Looks like my very good summary post has been removed for no reason. Maybe they are banning sensible posts? It was obviously there as the captain replied to it. I wouldn't mind so much if it was just a sentence.
Anyway, I was on 4 places, but clearly no good to us. Broke slowly, and sadly, looked as if he found the track much too sharp. Finished as well as anything, but needed an unhindered run in the straight. Johnston got his big winner in the first at Newcastle. |

I am assuming nobody wanted the wild card. It's a very difficult punting day.
I will stick with my initial choice. 2.00 Newton Abbot Dante's Rocco EW It's a real bummer that the favorite is out which has meant the price has gone from 18/1-9/1. He looks to have the scope to make a chaser, and at some stage should be up to winning races. Recent produce haven't been great, but it is the family of Marlborough and Ekbalco. Several subsequent winners have come out of his point run, and the ground was probably softer than ideal. He showed a bit of promise on his rules debut, albeit ultimately beaten a long way by some useful horses. Dropped in trip on quicker ground at Wincanton he very much caught the eye, staying on strongly without getting to the leaders. He needs to brush up his jumping, but the extra distance should be a positive. Stable has had a few recent winners, and it will be disappointing if he can't at least push for a place. Fingers crossed it isn't a repeat of yesterday. |

Hope the radiation route goes well for you Dragon.
Wildcard noted. As I think I mentioned, chavman put his name in just as we were about to start but then space wasn't immediately available and then he didn't come back. He has taken part in the past for the Shrewdies, shall I message him? |

Considering the market support - the price in the end wasn't worth bothering with - a woeful performance. This time they rode him to win, and he has very quickly stopped to nothing. The trip should have been a plus so you wonder if he has an issue, or of course he is just not much good. He certainly isn't on that effort.
Hopefully, our others are better than that. |

vwd stu place landed decent second - cd have been better without the trouble in running
|
|
By:
Yes, well done Stu, all points welcome.
Incredibly low scoring week, so all to play for next week. All places possible. Some reasonable stuff to have a go at with Fairyhouse and Aintree. |
|
By:
yup second posi so thats a bonus given the low scores.
shd move us up the table nicely ![]() |

morning guys,
u may have noticed that chavman has replaced makermemoney as the new member of the team so there is no need for any further wild card selections at this stage. lets hope chavman can get some winners and get us back to the top where we belong! i have welcomed chav on a seperate thread |

Hi all,
Ive gone for Arry Up 19.30 Kempton- 10pts win He won well last time out at CD and bids for his hat-rick. I think he might be ahead of the handicapper and can cope with the 6lb rise in the weights- Lets hope so! |
|
By:
Well done again. Kept it simple, and never really in doubt. If only they were all like that.
So far nobody has pulled away so still all to play for. |
|
By:
Well done captain
|
|
By:
Thanks guys - yes it won well but i was disappointed with the SP of 7/4 as it was obviously heavily backed . I was on at 5/2.
Lets hope we can get some more winners this week. |

Pourquoi Pas Papa - 5.15 Aintree 5pts EW for The Mob
|
|
By:
Small loss today from four bets. Nothing stands out over the next two days so just a case of hoping to land on the right one, if there is a right one.
5.15 Aintree Laafi EW This time fourth would be okay. This isn't a great race, it isn't close to the Martin Pipe in terms of quality. Hence I am not overly worried about top weight. He has gone hard from the front on both his last two starts, finishing a very game fifth on each occasion. The four horses who beat him last time were held up off the pace. I expect similar tactics again, and it will be a question of what he can keep in the tank. It's a sharp track, and the three flights in the straight might help his cause. On limited evidence, I like the jock. He did well at Cheltenham, and got the most out of Wonleg today, despite the ground being softer than ideal, and the horse jumping right. Winning won't be easy, but I fancy he will give it a good shot. Overnight rain would be a concern so I won't confirm it on the main thread until tomorrow morning. |

Ground appears to have moved in the right direction so confirmed. Closer it gets to good the better.
|
|
By:
thanks guys and good luck

It's a shame they are in the same race, but hopefully, at least will get some points. No money for mine which is a little strange if the ground is seemingly moving in his favour.
