Good morning lads, looks like we have kept our powder dry this week, let us hope it pays off. No need for explanations Billposter but always interesting when given, good luck. As it is the Derby I expect someone will fancy their chances but I hope one is enough in a trappy race.

By:
Going for Mermaids Cave 1425 hrs Worc. She has turned a corner since her one attempt at fences and despite top weight could be on a decent mark and Alex Chadwick is good value for his 5lb claim, around 3/1 which looks fair value.
|
|
By:
Even more reason to swerve the Derby if the forecast rain arrives, could turn it into more of a lottery than it already is, that said it could throw up a big priced winner so Barstool's choice not without a shout.

By:
Stanhope 3.15 Navan EW, long in the tooth as an 11 yo, usually runs well here with 4 wins and numerous places over 5/6fs, ran 2 good races here this season and KK can claim his full 5lbs allow, only 2lbs lto, should go well hopefully from a feather weight.

Good luck Acey and Foyles in this cavalry charge, aren't high numbers usually best in this. See George B has also gone with yours Foyles, well 1 of 3.
Good luck with the Mermaid Glen. Bad luck Foyles, thought you had it. |
|
By:
No good from me but well done Foyles, unlucky to meet a resurgent Fahey nag. Still await NEC so get a wildcard ready just in case.
|
|
By:
Suggestion for wildcard, Papa Don't Preach 1635 hrs Donc, about time he got his head in front and this looks a good opportunity?

Gone Strike Red 5.00 Epsom Fahey's horses running into form and it wont mind anymore rain

Glad you are here NEC, very best of luck mate.

|
By:
thanks Glen things not been too great recently (wife ongoing health problems) but birth of our first grandchild (girl) has cheered us up
and hopefully better times just round the corner - hope things good with you... |
|
By:
Congratulations NEC, hope things improve for your wife and you. Grandchildren have a habit of cheering up grandparents so hope the same for you as for us, going home shortly but great seeing them.
|
|
By:
Poor run from Stanhope, other course specialist wins it, sorry guys.
Hope the Mrs health picks up NEC, miserable for everyone when someone close is suffering. My Ex has dementia, it's terrible for her and my daughter. I'm banned from seeing her, absolutely ridiculous considering i've been helping to care for her last 6 years. |
|
By:
thanks guys, that sound a really tough situation Stewarts especially when you have done so much for her
families can be most irrational at times |

Good luck wonders, we all could do with a winner last few weeks. Thinking of putting one up later we'll see.

Decided to go with Magnetic North in the 1st race Limerick. As we know in claiming races h'cap marks sometimes don't count for much, but in claimimg company this horse has won 5 races, stays 1m4fs and has won most races in May/June/July.
First run for Peter Fahey following 2 good runs at Catterick for Rebecca Menzies over 12fs, likes to be up with the pace and think has an EW chance. The fav is ridden by a lad whose just had 2 rides but will stay the distance, can't be said for all of them. Lohengrin is a horse i've fancied on a few runs but can get behind over 7/8fs hope can go better over this distance but not assured. |
|
By:
Typical, the horse i go with led most of way and weakened final furlong, other horse mentioned gets 3rd at 16/1.

Good morning lads, not a lot in it for the final day of the round and no need for tilting at windmills. We have 5 bullets so a fair chance of some decent point providing we make them count, easier said than done tbf.
|
|
By:
Going with Urban Lion 1405 hrs Sand, currently around 9/4. Beat the fav lto when beaten in a photo at Newbury, his best run to date. Slightly more weight to give to the fav today so could be tight but he looks the more progressive as a 4 yo with more to come I hope.
