Well done Shane. Didn't I suggest win only?
Seriously, I would be a total hypocrite if I wasn't to say those two winners just make a complete mockery of game. At least this one did have some consistent back form, albeit two and a half years ago. The icing on the cake, Probert the in-form jock, 1 winner from his last 47 rides. I had envisaged 8 pins hovering over the Cambridgeshire, but this makes life more difficult. No free shots. Kind of appropriate if we were to pull off a miracle in Ryder Cup week. |

To be honest I haven't fancied anything all week. If wee were just chasing £50 I would have gone win on Zain Claudette who has a good chance in what looks a very ordinary renewal of the Cheveley Park. In fact it doesn't look a strong year for juveniles full stop. So instead it's the Cambridgeshire. It's been wacky races up the Rowley Mile this week so I have zero idea of what is good draw. The pin came down on a choice between Chichester or Bell Rock, and I have plumped for the bigger price. Last time I looked he was 50/1 with Bet 365. I think that's too big in what again isn't a vintage renewal. His form figures on the Rowley Mile are 1131. They are the only three races he has won, and the third came in last year's race. The claim reduces the slight rise in the weights. The ground looks ideal. If he isn't drawn out of it then he should run much better than the price suggests. Good luck all. Either way the skip has done very well to get us one point. |
