2.20 Carlisle Henry Gondoff Win
We got bailed out a few times in the last competition but so far it's not happening. Was going to wait for something bigger, but any winner is good at the moment. Last time I suggested it was a match the race was won by a 25/1 shot, but this does look a match and I think this one could be significantly better than the current favourite. Stable going pretty well. As ever fingers crossed. |

Oceanline 8.20 Wolver. Pretty sure this is a well treated animal. Its run on the 13th November last year at Wolver over 7f, where it finished on the bit from stall 12 suggests 78 a v fair mark. Not sure if this is the right set up today but looks the type to pick up a few races in due course. Fingers crossed the winning run starts tonight.

Good morning Team
I didn't fancy much at all today, a pity we can't save points for a double stake, but i've gone for a relatively safe one, if only to give us a shout on the run-in next week. Letsbeclearaboutit - 5.15 Fairyhouse 10 pts win. Good luck China and George. |

5.00 Fairyhouse - Cedarwood Road EW
This horse was a big favourite of mine last season, doing me three good turns. I thought he was a potential Arkle horse, but unfortunately his chasing career hasn't taken off, but there is still time for him to turn things around. Tomorrow would be a good place to start. He was all over the place jumping out left on chasing debut, a bit better second time and then got the job done under Derek O'Connor last time. That was right handed and although taken wide he seemed to jump reasonably straight. It goes without saying that he needs to step up on that form. That said in reality tomorrow's race is more Grade 2 than Grade 1 and you could pick holes in the other runners. The big negative for me is Flanagan for O'Connor, but as they say every dog has it's day. As ever fingers crossed. It can't possibly be more unlucky than my last selection. I looked at the Aintree entries for Thursday/Friday and nothing stood out and I know I haven't got anything for the National. So I didn't think it was worth hanging around and given the position we are in I didn't think it was worth putting up a short one. We need a boost, preferably a big one, just to get things moving in the right direction. I know, easier said than done. Good luck to everyone else. |

Good morning Team
Thanks Shane/Werbie, but anyone can pick winners at 4/7 and if i had known the odds would be as such, i would have looked for something else, it was 11/10 when i posted. I think the 2nd fav was a NR ? Sods law that after selecting a couple of winners in the first week i decided to go for EW choices in the following (both still running). Yesterday i thought i would revert to a favourite yet picked the 13/2 winner (Themaxwecan) for max points in the big race flat competition yesterday. Never mind, we have a few points on board and all to play for. Unlucky China, chinned close home and a decent price as well. Good luck later DD and to those that play in the week. |

Andrew, no need to feel at all disappointed about putting up a winner. Six of us couldn't do it, and not all 4/7 shots win, far from it. I backed Letsbeclearaboutit on Friday night and just about managed an odds against return after the non runner. Although it was unimpressive it was a solid selection. The only other one I backed ran like a drain. I just think if we are to get back into some sort of contention it has to happen over the next two rounds. The alternative is just to get something on the board and end up maybe finishing fifth or sixth. I hope we can do better than that.

Beaten after a fence. In fact he was beaten before he started. Never a change this dog was ever going to have it's day. Perhaps the connections will finally get the message and Flanagan will never ride the horse again. The horse well and truly dumped him.
