Morning fellow Pins,

As we need points my initial thought was to go for an EW on Sam Barton at a decent price but i don't want to pick in the same race as Shane (let's hope Pactolus romps home). There wasn't much i fancied anywhere so i've plumped for a 10 pt win on Five Star Getaway - Sandown 4.45.

Both the above i mentioned on my thread posted earlier.

Good luck Shane, Happy and George. Happy

Thanks for putting mine up Shane - I hadn't forgotten.

Good luck.

I think I backed Five Star Getaway more than once last season on the each-way extra and he showed next to nothing. Then the money is down and bingo and of course the trainer can't explain the improvement. I thought 5/2 looked big last night and it seemed others did as well.

Morning and thanks Guys

As George stated, no wooden spoon and we had a poor start in the previous competiton if i remember so no worries. Racing Demons were worthy winners this week with a good score of 255 points so we have some work to do in the next few weeks. Onwards and upwards. Happy

Good luck all.

1.20 Cheltenham - Bear Ghylls

I have liked this horse since he bolted up in a Warwick bumper. Funnily enough I wrote about him and Bob Olinger as being the best of last seasons 'unexposed' bumper horses. They meet tomorrow and it is obvious which is the more attractive price. Bear Ghylls' form has been boosted by the likes of Make Me A Believer, Guard Your Dreams (Coral Cup) and Gowel Road (County). The defeat of Make Me A Believer makes him look at least a Grade 2 horse. It says much for the horse that he is the stable's only winner this year. The two doubts are the jock who is pretty wing and a prayer and the drying ground which has probably prompted the recent drift. The market has just assumed he needs soft ground. Hopefully, he can overcome those two concerns. It would be a terrific result if he can pull it off. No point in going each way. Fingers crossed.

You are much too kind. I have had (by my standards) a very good betting week but I can't buy a winner in the competitions.

It was extremely frustrating that a poor ride and poor jumps at the second and third last effectively scuppered a 25/1 each-way collection. He finished really well and obviously needed a stiffer test of stamina. I had him backed ages ago at 33/1 for the Albert Bartlett and I am pretty sure that today's performance would be good enough to win that race. Trainer has made a real mess of things throughout the season. I wish he was in a top yard.

To compound things I was also on Bob Olinger for the Supreme and Albert Bartlett, both at 33/1. You can't win them all as they say.

Good luck to everyone else.

happysandwich, you need to post these on the selections thread please.

Yor team has been copying them over which is fine but if they don't see it in time it may slip through.

To be honest i don't fancy much at all anywhere.

China/George, are you posting a Midland GN selection ?

Thanks for the quick response George (pushed for time here). I didn't want to post if either of you had a fancy for the race.

Usually i put up something around 6/4 (although i had a 10/1 winner lay year) but we need the points so i've gone for the ultra consistant The Two Amigos in the Midland GN. I mentioned this one on my thread earlier (also my selection in the NH comp) and i can see him in the frame, so given a place result would not be so different in point terms, and who knows he could win. FWIW my win selection would have been Jeremy Pass (3.50 Kempton).

Good luck guys.

Ephemeral - 5.00 Wolves

I only stick to the flat as well Andrew , don't really follow the jumps these days.

Although the way my flat selections have gone recently maybe I shouldn't bother with the flat either Crazy

Best of luck to you and George today , we could do with some points.

Fwiw, imo, I don't see a problem with two people selecting in the same race, especially a race like a 'National' where there are plenty of EW options.

A 20-1 winner and a 10-1 second, for example, would do nicely Wink

We had 2 in the Gold Cup yesterday as well. Don't see any issue with 2 in the same race if you both strongly fancy your selection.
