Well, having had seen my best bet of the week hack up and then get disqualified for the comp I've now got to find another, tomorrows racing looks difficult so its now or never, instead of having points already on the board I'm now 'guessing' somewhat.

4.40 Catterick, its either the lightly raced and still improving Al Mansoura, 2nd the last twice in this class and on this going or Mr Strutter who hasnt won on turf for 15 months. Mr Strutters record at Catterick over 7 furlongs in a Class 6 Handicap reads won, won, won, fourth and he's also been placed over 6 furlongs. Ratings wise he has won from marks of 57 to 69 and gets in today from a mark of 61. Two races back at this distance at Ripon he looked to be running back to form then last time at Catterick in a slightly better race he had no room when wanting to make an effort, then got stopped again and then again inside the final furlong, ended up being beaten by less than four lengths. Round the Island finished 2nd that day and Mr Strutter has just a 2lb pull in the weights but given a clear run it might be enough. There is always a danger backing a hold up horse in a decent sized field at Catterick as it does favour the front runners, but thats all I've got.

Mr Strutter was 8.4 last night but has been well backed it seems and is now only 4.8 on here, will make a win or each way decision nearer the race.

Tiger ill keep you all hanging...I know its a bit of fun but betting 5EW and receiving place terms of 7/4 ish when its a 7/2 shot to place is criminal really.

If Farasi Lane does get punted ill have 10 win at 6/1ish.

If not I may try and pick the 4:45 apart to slightly extend our lead.

GL today Plat, no pressure regardless, team flying.

Maybe being gelded is just what was needed for Farasi.

Going against Farasi Lane...makes no sense to put it up in the context of where we sit Grin

Instead ill try and firm our position with an evens shot.

Its hard to split Teodolina and Lucid Dreamer in the 445 but I slightly favour TEODOLINA on all evidence and im putting that one up.

Hopefully it can get a tow in and be sat on the bridle for as long as possible before being asked for an effort.

It's been a tricky week for sure. No points put on the board and one of our troops has gone missing in action.
Can I ask tiger and nocturnal to put in a serious form studying session this evening (no red wine this week Noc!) and come out all guns blazing tomorrow. No selections under 3/1 if possible because we're going to need a couple of nice priced winners to secure top spot again. GL chaps!

Any idea which races your playing in Tiger/Captain ?

Saw that notebook ride WP,always difficult with claimers, more in the locker than shown.

Couple like later, just above the 3/1 target range Shocked

I'll be playing in a race at Ayr nocturnal.

We need two of us on the scoresheet today, price is not that important, getting a 6/4 winner is better than a 3/1 loser!! Go with your own form selection and the one you think will get us some points whether its a straight win or each way Happy

There is a couple at my local course (Abbot) I'm looking at. Bit On The Side should win the first race but he will go off a very short price. I expect Sammylou & My Lady Grey to fight out another finish in the 4.10 and then you have a very interesting novice chase. I liked Follow the Bear's debut over fences last season. He's been off the track since pulling up at Aintree but you can expect the trainer to have him straight enough to do himself justice today. There's a couple at big prices on the flat I'm quite interested in too.

2-15 newbury Chatez EW

Been waiting for this horse to be stepped up on decent ground.

Handicapper has given him a chance, smooth traveller on a going day.

Had his problems,Kingy has been able to get a few runs into him, hoping for a decent run.

3.05 Ayr for me Umm Kultham, won his maiden nicely when still a bit green and then ran a cracker to be third in the Lowther at York, would have been closer but for a slow tardy start, is the highest rated in this field and should give us a run for our money if starting on terms.

I've gone for 3.00 Newton Abbot - Nachi Falls

This race is weaker than the 2 he won and he's a backable price.

Yeah, rock music and alcohol is the secret to picking winners! Grin We finished 3rd and I'd say after this week, that's quite acceptable. I did consider putting Sammylou up but that winner would have only gained us 2nd so I'm not going to beat myself up too much about it. LOL
Back to looking for those big priced value bets next week then, Swaddle? Cool

Thanks again for all your efforts in this round lads. As for the chavman situation, it looks like we will be a man down from now on. We can just share the wildcard out each week and rather than go in any particular order, I prefer whoever has a strong fancy can take it for that week. I will post a list and then each member will be taken off as we each use the wildcard over the 7 week period. I hope that makes sense? Grin

Good luck in round 4 chaps!

I can only improve, hopefully I can contribute in round 4, Hopefully Chav comes back for round 4 Happy

Well done to all the team members who hot winners during the round HappyHappyHappy

WP If Chavvers doesn't come back then I would say I'm out of the "strong fancy" wild card, my knowledge of the game isn't really good enough when it comes to that so we need someone like Plat, yourself or Tiger to take up that position CoolHappy

I like Chav and hope he returns, he's his own man and will decide for himself I would think, be good to see him back though.
