AM - yep, it was done for the sun and was in the paper the day of the final iirc.

Just looking again, their final poll last year was taken from 9th-11th Dec.
The final was 12th/13th Dec |

soz boys, can someone recap this for me, one d came out badly in a one gov pol, right?
|
|
By:
Another interesting angle on that is that the performance in the final doesn't really matter much?
Voters have already made their minds up, and the don't knows vote in proportion. Obviously this is one poll and could have been lucky, but will be very interesting if they do similar again. |

I take back my prior comments RE YouGov. As you said, I'd take that well over Survation, BBOnline, DSpy (all of which I ignore anyway!). I think the Eoghan vs Alexandra (he was doubling her votes 3 weeks prior to the final), shows that anyone who is polling relatively well 3 weeks out can be pushed across the line. And someone polling consistently on top can be purposely toppled. Does make Aiden an interesting prospect, as I suspect he's polling pretty well.

Think the final is absolutely massive still AM, just think that's an anomoly. The year before results would have been further out imho (think a reliable poll I saw had JLS in front, but the final swayed it for Alex considerably).

Meanwhile, the Big Band week - an 'X Factor' favourite, which gives contestants the opportunity to perform alongside a full band - has been axed in a move which is said to favour young acts One Direction and Cher Lloyd.
Their respective mentors - Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole - were reportedly concerned their acts wouldn't be capable of singing an old-fashioned tune. An insider revealed: "It could be a death knell to One Direction or Cher, whose main talent is rapping |

The new survation poll isn't look good for 1D either
http://www.scribd.com/doc/41186776/X-Factor-Week-5-Preview Even when they weight their data in favour of younger viewers, they still only manage 6.3% |

I see the Survation survey has Matt miles ahead and on DS there is a poll of 567 people (not exactly millions I know but a nice little amount to get some idea) and he's miles ahead there too. I wouldn't overly read too much into these and Im a Matt supporter as you know but it can't be bad for him. |

By:
I think he wins easily in a fair run race.
Will it be fair though? |
|
By:
I hope so!
If it's 'And may the best man win'(including the gals and groups) then I'll be ok! Hopefully alright for this week at least. 'One day at a Time! ....... Who was that by Figgy? |
|
By:
No idea.
It sounds like something Barbra Streisand would sing. I think in a totally fair run race Matt would win, from Mary and Rebecca. Cher and maybe Paije or John next. 1D wouldn't even be top 5. |

In your scenario Figgy I'd go:
MATT MARY CHER AIDEN (In not too high a key) REBECCA PAIJE |

I hope Matt comes back as he wasn't quite so good last week with a drab song. I'm not overly keen on Aunt Sally myself and don't go much on the boys so more worried about Cher. Having said that Rebecca done nothing wrong so far .... just not great for me.
