Pretty sure Rebecca is our only stumbling block, not my cup of tea, or yours I gather but her vocals are pitch perfect imho.

Winners I'm afraid. Angela being against has given me a nice confidence boost.

Lou, are you the one that complains about being bullied and people ganging up on you on here. If so, I might go back in on 1D.

You seem nice Laugh

How much do you want on One D? I will happily go big big red on them as long as its your money I'm taking.

Yes I'm the guy who won't put up with people trying to bully me into changing my opinion.  When you say 'winners I'm afraid' if I say Matt's 'the winner I'm afraid' what makes you right and me wrong?

That was a reply to 'dead and was meant to be taken lightly.

At least your post had some substance tbf. [:)]

I do think on here people tend to think Cowell this and Cowell that yet he hasn't won it for about 5 years with one of his own acts and one of his own acts went out the very first week.  Why didn't he wave his magic wand and save them?

I think the lads will go far but win it? .................... I could well be wrong but not for me.

Lou Cowel doesn't give a fack about winning the side pot.  This is merely a little game to make the prgramme more interesting.  None of them give a s hit.
The main event is what the competition is about and this is where he makes his fortunes.

Only IMHO of course ;-)

I think you'll find I can post what I like and don't have to run it by you.

of course you can mate, and i have defended you time and time again but i am just starting to find your posts just a little repetitive, as they generally involve ramping matt and saying things like 'that is your opinion' - we know its their opinion, otherwise they wouldnt have written it

btw take this in the good humour in which it was meant Laugh

Anyone starting to think Cowell would rather Cher won?
By:

benjy - the Cher 'push for the final' has made me more confident of my One D bet.
By:

Maybe. Just fear Cowell turning on them in the final. Like eggnog.

Anything can happen of course - but I doubt his plotting to get 1D through this is all just so he can change his mind and get them beaten.

Just posted this elsewhere, but it's probably more relevant here.

If Mary was 2nd (and probably a low second - no more than 14%) in the 3rd week in the vote, either Matt or One Direction are not doing anywhere near as well as you'd think at this stage.

I'd have thought Matt lead in week 3 because of the almost unanimous hype, which would mean One Direction were third (at best).

If One Direction aren't topping the vote at the moment (when the teen vote has a fair bit of might), they could even struggle to make the finals and could be in trouble far sooner than we think.

Most of the stats (and Survation) suggests that it is One Direction's support that has been over-stated.

My guess is that Matt topped the vote in weeks 2 and 3, with Mary 2nd.

On separate threads I suggested that the 5/2 on offer was by far the worst value.

Topping the vote early on isn't what I would want tbh.

you are not catering for one direction's massive improvement
By:

What massive improvement?  Are you being ironic?
By:
Benjy
When: 01 Nov 10 22:55
Not sure if you are being ironic but I expect they do have improvement to come when Harry gets more vocals with Liam and the other three do as little as possible. They also haven't done a song you would really associate with them so far.

But what I was getting at with my previous post is that topping the vote in the first few weeks counts for very little. Looking at the last 2 winners (can't find stats before this) they haven't topped the vote until week 7 of 10 and week 8 of 10 respectively. It's maybe a negative for Matt rather than a positive for One Direction but it still can't be ignored.

we'll  get the "you guys don't get the credit " line this week from SC

i.e  we need some more votes [;)]

I agree with that Benjy - topping the polls early with massive You Tube hits is no great endorsement (Danyl anyone?!), I do think that the winner has to 'build' throughout the season.

At the moment that looks like being Rebecca, not Matt or 1D!
By:
shrewdbury
When: 01 Nov 10 23:41
Surely it's obvious why SC hasn't pimped them to the top of the pile at this stage, it's almost always a negative to do that too early.
By:
Dizzy42
When: 01 Nov 10 23:45
1D could build, definitely - and with Harry and Liam they have the quality of singers.  But they need to get some better material and put in a couple of standout performances in the next week or two.

With Cowell down to the one act now we'll see his true intentions...

Westlife have tipped fellow boyband One Direction to triumph on this year's X Factor.

Speaking at the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women Of The Year Awards, the Irish hitmakers claimed that the group will be a "massive" success next year.

Nicky Byrne is quoted by PA as saying: "One Direction [will win] I would say. This time next year they're going to be massive. They're very good, they're a great little boyband."

Simon Cowell revealed last Sunday on The Xtra Factor that Westlife, along with JLS and Take That, will be performing on the reality show later this month.

Mark Feehily commented about the appearance: "It's going to be ourselves, Take That and JLS. It's going to be a good week. I think it's fantastic... a celebration of boybands.

"A few years back, I don't know if people would have believed it if you told them that three boybands were going to be on and they were going to be as big as ever. It's not in a nostalgic sense, it's here and now. We're all very much relevant right now in pop music. It's a great time for boybands."
