I think there is a small part of Serena that actually believes she can win another slam or 2, the motivation for her is huge because it bothers her a lot that she didn't beat Margaret Court's record of 24, even though it's a meaningless slam record for various reasons, she really wanted another 2, it's not happening, the ship has long since sailed.
