I will say Serena is value today at 2.16. I don't think she's delusional and would have come back if her level was such that she would lose to a no-hoper like Maya Joint. Unlike Venus who loves to just participate at this stage, Serena's mindset is to win.

These wildcards are embarrassing, I've been saying it for years, didn't they pull back on the number of British wildcards at Wimbledon for a while, seem to have gone back to increasing them, all it does it shine a light on just how bad British tennis is and that is  very poor reflection on the LTA who's job it is to produce stars, know it's the AELTC that is dishing them out, but they work closely with the LTA have help fund them. Swan only beat Begu because she's old and barely played much the last two years, she'll be dumped out by Keys next round. I can't believe Swan is 27 already, you still think of her as that young player coming through.

Still very plucky

Had Montgomery reaching the 4th round as well ffs.

Surprised this Grant player has switched to Italy, surely economically it's better to be with the US than Italy and all the other benefits it may bring, future wildcards if needed etc.

said it before will say it again have never seen a multiple grand slam winner look so timid and nervous and lacking in confidence. god only knows what that psychologist she has is saying to her because if anything it looks like she knows nothing about the mental side of the game, much less that she employs someone to help her with it

dont bother coming to the net iga if youre going to volley like that

iga about to join graf and vondrousova behind a truly woeful performance. townsend looks the far better and more complete tennis player

be a miracle if iga wins this. just spent about an hour trying to hold serve now after a couple of mins back to trying to hold serve again

That's how easy it is for Iga when she locks in.

So many of the 'top' players looking fatigued in the first round. Shelton being the latest.

spoke to soon toad. thats how bad she can be.
By:
Angela Rebecchi
When: 30 Jun 26 15:34
Oh for sure, she's unable to lock in for long periods for a while. She used to be majestic ! That was awful.
By:

When: 30 Jun 26 15:35
honestly have no idea what will happen every time she hits a shot. its incredible. take your pick from shank, hit long, hit in the net
By:

When: 30 Jun 26 15:36
utterly incapable at the net and blows a gasket at anything short. like a rabbit in the headlights. and this is a multiple slam champion. you wonder how its possible.
By:
tobiasr
When: 30 Jun 26 15:37
townsend has been able to keep this so close because she has the kind of tennis iq you would expect of a doubles player. without that and even with how bad iga has been this would have been over a while ago

Townsend at times looks like she's never hit a tennis ball before Laugh Shockingly wild UEs. Not like she's clobbering it old school Saba style, these are her trying to play with control
By:
Angela Rebecchi
When: 30 Jun 26 15:38
So easy. Toying with her when she locks in Laugh
By:
tobiasr
When: 30 Jun 26 15:39
she looks far more in control than iga does toad. lets see if the nervous nerys thats won so many of the biggest titles and so should be walking around the court like a boss can serve it out.

lesser cerundolo mugging in another slam. cant work out if getting straight setted by munar here is worse than the debacle at the french

Ryba

When: 30 Jun 26 16:35
wta tennis is just a farce. saba was pants, iga nearly lost and now it looks like ryba will do. to a clay court mug to boot
By:
tobiasr
When: 30 Jun 26 16:40
boisson never won a match on grass. lost in qualifying here last year to branstine and then lost to sierra in germany before this tournament. it should be absolutely impossible for rybakina to lose this. this is federer stakhovsky level ****
By:
tobiasr
When: 30 Jun 26 16:43
only won one match all year as well. this is why i cannot stand rybakina. an absolute ****house
By:
Angela Rebecchi
When: 30 Jun 26 16:44
Ryba has thrown in some horror efforts during the grass court season. But yeah this is very silly
By:
tobiasr
When: 30 Jun 26 16:46
actually im being unfair on stak and fed. stak played well and had a gameplan that worked rather than fed playing bad. this is orders of magnitude worse than that. rybakina is playing horrendously and is close to losing to a player who is allergic to grass
