So many Italian and World flags playing today, and a lone random Polish flag waving about in the wind
By:
This is why Women's tennis can't grow, too many random east Europeans nobody can get on board with

Though I've been championing Shnaider for some time, backed her to go far in slams going back a year or two, not this slam though, always the way, reminds me of when I backed Jabuer to reach the French Open final and she was knocked out in Round 1, and OF COURSE she made the very next Wimbledon and US Open finals instead, always the way.

Lots of those myself mes. Think Simona Halep for the French, crashes out to Amanda iirc, then wins Wimbledon

Quick quiz question, without looking it up, when was the last time Sabalenka was bagelled and a bonus point for tournament as well.

Looked at the game markets for a few small fun game betting lays but liquidity a joke sadly

There was some weird comeback. I feel she was involved.

Worst thing about Shnaiders's success is that we have to see more of Sascha Bajin

woah, that's a lot of bagels for the world number 1.
By:
yeah, I had to double check I entered the right filter, but she has been bagelled 17 times, 13 on tour

It was Donna Kebab Vekic, the shame

Cobolli turning up the volume on his grunts like he is Del Potro.

Big turn around that set. 1-1

Hard to see anyone in the top half win this title unless their opponent has a really poor day on Sunday.

Cobolli meditating before coming out to serve for the match.

Another very strange market. Couldn't split them after the 2nd and then were really anti Flavio after he won the 3rd.

bye bye felix. couldnt even get it done in indoor conditions. says it all. mentality midget

Italy with their two biggest stars out and they still clinch a finalist on Wednesday in week 2.

that bagel stat about saba says it all. forget finesse, forget point construction, forget calm. just smack the **** out of the ball and whilst its enough to get the job done in most matches by overpowering opponents, when it goes wrong and shots land in a different postcode to the court it means shes liable to be beaten by anyone
By:
and beaten badly

She couldn't cope with the wind, lost something like 11 games is a row
By:
should have practiced for wind. same thing happened in the final last year and she trotted out that immortal line about learning from it and shes trotted out the same line after losing to shnaider. shes learnt nothing from last year and shell learn nothing from this. shes 28 years old. if she hasnt found ways by now to learn new things and make changes and adjustments and learn how to cope when things go against her in a match she never will
By:
oh and another 1.01 torpedoed. so thats atp and wta #1s both losing from 1.01
By:
sinners another one that doesnt want to learn. surely by now he must realise he is not able at all to cope in heat and humidity. there are things he could do to change that and bearing in mind nothing else really needs changing the mind boggles at why he hasnt tried to address pretty much the only weakness he has.

Wonder how Matteo is feeling. Seems to be blowing pretty hard early on here.

Cannot believe Berrettini was called for two foot faults, and in the same game, vast majority of foot faults are ignored unless they're blatant, some line judge wants a bit of fame, or they want their betting accounts monitored.
By:
same umpire as when Fognini had all those footfaults against Montanes in 2011.
By:
today is sadly a sign of how poor the women draw.
First ticket had two WTA QF's and one ATP QF and it was 25-50% packed. This one looks nearly packed despite only having one match on the ticket. And the only star of the day was Sabalenka. |
By:
Did the comms mention that or good memory?
Courier said he's never seen an umpire overrule a foot fault, I don't think I have either, can't think of a time anyway. |
By:
Berrettini former Wimbledon finalists, a bit of star, and a looker for the women

By:
good memory. well bad memories actually. Not a good result on that match.
