handshake between Elina and the umpire might be the only handshake we'll get after this.

Yeah

Svito playing some top class tennis here.
By:
However I've seen this movie before. Similar to another move I have seen lots of times called Aryna vs Marta.
By:
Yeah, Svito has been purring all year. She'll need the Saba radar to go off kilter long enough to stand a chance here for sure
By:
just looked at the game betting markets for Vekic. 0 matched on everything I've looked at so far.
By:
Can't understand the thought process behind running them there and not here
![]() ![]() |
By:
That hindrance call was crackers. Saba did well to stay composed
By:
maybe they just forgot to upload or it's some recent Australian law saying game betting is too random and you can't have betting on them?
By:
Yeah. My thought process was it must be a law related thing. Nothing would be matched in those markets anyway, but that can't be a reason as surely that would uphold for Manila too !
By:
Only question left now is if there will be booing at the end.
By:
will Aryna shake the umpires hand is also in the balance
By:
I think Saba will shake the umpires hand. How do you see the next semi final wisey ?

ffs another cringe Jelena/Aryna interview awaits.

Jelena trying to make Aryna cry

Tennis Updates @TennisUpdates26
They announced to the crowd ahead of time that there would be no handshake after the match. They didn't do this during Andreeva/Svitolina the other day and there were boos, I was kinda surprised everyone was so thrown off considering how long that's been the case for. |
By:
That's the right approach, but shouldn't be needed.
By:
First week was so cool, but for week two we have had one women's match go 3 sets, and two men's matches go 4 sets. Everything else has been straight sets. And there was the Musetti/Djokovic match which was probably the most exciting from a betting drama perspective.
By:
But there hasn't been any drama or memorable moments in week 2, unlike in week 1 where there were plenty.
By:
Yeah. But for the Novak match it's been a bit of a wash out betting wise and spectacle wise ! We have been blessed with some crazy spicy markets first week of slams recently, even more spicier than usual !
By:
US Open gave us Bublik vs Paul, Paul vs Borges, Felix vs Demon, Zverev vs Felix, Karen vs Majchrzak, Riedi vs Cerundolo. Stef vs Altmaier, Djoko vs Svajda, Mensik vs Blanchet, Nakashima vs Kym, Nakashima vs De Jong, Shelton vs Mannarino, Collignon vs Ruud, Medvedev vs Bonzi.
And that's just the men's side. On the women's side without looking I recall Kostyuk vs Muchova and Gauff vs Vekic. |
By:
Let's hold please, Jess!
By:
A lot of those matches were clashes between absolute mugs. Lack of stardust this year from the big players which is what people remember when looking back at slams.
I hope though Serena's not serious about a comeback, she was awful heading into retirement, nobody wants to see her drag her lard arse around court at the age of 44 being beaten by some backstreet scrub from outer Mongolia. |
By:
would be nice if this could deliver and not end with Ryba in 2 after all.
By:
what a lucky morrillo by Jess
By:
Serena just making sure to stay in the spotlight. She knows better than to come back and be routed by Sabalenka 6-1, 6-1.
By:
Ryba a lil nervous.
By:
what are you doing, Jess!
![]() |
By:
two weaksauce points against a nervous opponent.
By:
I suppose it makes sense for her to be nervous as well.
By:
Ryba's big match experience in these slams showing, Pegula clearly nervous
By:
point should be replayed, red light came and stayed on
