Would you vote for it if I asked the remaining participants for a trial introduction, retroactively this morning?
By:
Oh Leylah.
By:
If you are going to miss a return, it should at least have been an attempt at a winner instead of a security return.
By:
let me think about that for about 45 minutes.
By:
unlucky JM, know how much you champions Leyla but maybe this is actually On's year for once
By:
It's hard going being a Leylah stan right now.

I wouldn't begrudge Ons a slam though. At her best she is box office, gives the tour so much value
By:
At least you didn't call yourself LeylahisGOAT, so you can always change course without constantly being reminded of it.

Very true
. Sabine did seem a bit GOATy at the time. (Her SW19 record is actually insane for a non winner) |
By:
Potapova GOATed to win that point.
By:
We have to plan a way to get Radwanska to coach Leylah. I'm convinced it's the answer. There must be a way!
By:
You want Aga to help Leyla to beat Iga? The Poles would never forgive her.
By:
Iga has only once lost to a left hander in since RG 2020.
By:
Aga has no interest in or loyalty to Iga. It's very quickly evident from her interviews imo.
By:
The name Lisicki always conjures up memories of that shocking forum moment when her disciple, namesake and biggest fan SabineIsGoat turned his back on her with the famous quote "I'm done with this mug" or words to that effect, last seen standing on the walls of the stone arched Richmond Bridge with passer-bys shouting "don't do it".

Being a lefty is such an advantage though if used with a bit of intelligence because even the top players can't get famiar with it.
It's why Montgomery nearly beat Sabalenka. She mixed up the serve beautifully. Leylah has the materials. Aga has the superior tennis intellect. It could be an amazing combination. |
By:
Aga knew where her opponent would hit the ball before even the opponent knew.
Not sure that can be taught. |

Wang
![]() She always comes across as really nice and well-mannered. Would never break a toe kicking any boards. |
By:
*shriek*
By:
thought POT v WANG was going to go to 11-9 in a tie break
By:
The Chatrier crowd a forgiving bunch after Iga lectured them the other day

Hubi with 6 first serves and still at deuce because of three bad errors. Thankfully for him Denis made two as well in the game and Hubi managed to hold. Rain delay now.
By:
Shame Zizou is not playing on a roofed court. If not Mirjam could go watch him.
By:
not putting covers on the court so can not be heavy rain.
By:
ballkids back ...
By:
raining heavy now
![]() |
By:
still no covers.
By:
went for a run around quarter to 6, good timing as play stopped with the rain
By:
![]() did the same at the end of set 2 Stef when the others were on a rain delay. As I got back Stef had finished (no betting interest in that) and the other were two points in after resumption. |
By:
sounds like you went for a longer run though.
By:
yeah, 45 minute run, very important to exercise in this job giving it involves sitting still for long periods Sitting for long periods is thought to slow the metabolism, which affects the body's ability to regulate blood sugar, blood pressure and break down body fat.
By:
well done. just got back into running after various knee & ankle injuries so sticking to 15/20 min runs now as I work my way up.
By:
umbrellas back up.
By:
At least we have nutter Corentin Moutet to keep us busy and entertained for the next 4 hours under a roofed court. And Carlos starts soon, hopefully Korda can put up a fight.
By:
yeah, for me 40 minutes seems optimal but felt like 5 extra minutes today
hoping Felix puts out Shelton, his career has been a slow burner |
By:
rain and covers on

silly scheduling to do all the WTA first and wait til the end of the day to schedule ATP matches on unroofed courts. For the women it's no issue to play 2 days in a row at a Slam, for the men it is, and now it looks like Felix, Hubi and Grigor have to.
