By:
In today's 16 WTA matches (14 completed), not one set has had both players winning 5 games or more.
By:
so obviously no tiebreaks! No wonder the day has flown by.

Just saw on the scoreboards that the legend Andre Begemann is still playing doubles. How awesome is that please? It will never be forgotten how he became a legend by...uhm....why do I even know him?
By:
Think he probably won a Davis Cup doubles match for Germany that one time.

Talented Angella Okutoyi from Kenya won the Africa Games in tennis today, having had previously beaten Mayar Sherif in the semifinals in four and a half or so hours yesterday. ITF/Olympic regulations have it though, that the winner of the Africa Games only gets an olympic ticket for Paris if they are ranked in the top400. Okutoyi easily has the level for that ranking, but has played precious little due to her being an NCAA player.
Will be curious to see if she works it out with Auburn that she gets to play more until the deadline in June to try and get herself to the Paris olympic games, possibly a once in a lifetime opportunity. The USTA green clay circuit could provide that spring board if she can finance organise the logistics of a road trip through the southern USA. |

let Angella play!

can't really blame Taylor for dumping BK when BK is out injured all the time.

Woz is probably gonna lose from 1.01. Struggling with an injury as well, different from the IW one. Not easy to play tennis at old age

karma for talking trash about Simona.

Regardless of injury concerns, going on court against the backdrop of a media spat (in this case with Halep) must be distracting.
Marta is the only player who seems to be able to turn off-court confrontation into on-court overperformance. |
By:
Miami's only the support act of the sunshine double anyway so there's far too much offcourt headlines.
Iga versus Noskova part 3 will hopefully get the sport focus back on track. |
