Are you scared yet?

By:
she can only gain 3.5 more points.
|
|
By:
Maybe, but 2025 will be the year of Jamrichova breaks through.
|
|
By:
will she bring you 4 points?
|
|
By:
Yes.
I would also like to leave a complaint that the entire competition is rigged against me by not awarding points for the WTA Finals. |
|
By:
You should be happy that points from WTA Who Is Less Burned Out? is awarded for ranking purposes.
|
|
By:
Is it too late to submit my official complaint about the competition being completely and thoroughly and despicably rigged against me by not awarding points for olympic singles gold medals?
|
|
By:
yeah, just like it's too late for me to complain about there not being any consolation points for players choking in finals and semifinals (Korneeva, Gadecki, Medjedovic)
But at least the Olympic points oversight will most likely be adjusted for flag comp #2 ![]() |
|
By:
C'mon, it's not even been half a year.
You better hope CAS doesn't feel responsible for overseeing this competition after I file my complaint with them. |

Having rechecked my dodgy maths this competition could be over in a matter of weeks!
![]() Diana Schneider, the already well fancied and tour established player that you picked two hours before she played her first WTA final (while the rest of the field were picking hipsters and juniors) is just outside the top ten. Having won four WTA events in 2024 she's being touted as a contender to be a breakthrough semi finalist or better at the Australian Open. If she reached the final it would give you 1.5 points for slam finalist, 1 point for top ten. If she actually won she gets another point for the win and that would take her into or just outside the top 5, total 4.5 points taking her tally to 6.5. That gets you to 15. Flag comp 2 could be underway before the snow melts. |
|
By:
This is why I've been making preparations for flag comp 2 so this can be up and running fairly soon after flag comp 1 is done :) Mirra and/or Diana would do something big anyday. But they could also stall for a few years and give you and edy a chance to catch up.
I am quite busy over the next months so I don't know when I will post the rules for flag comp 2, there will be some small changes, but the basic concept is the one. And should I see that flag comp 1 is nearing the end, I will hurry up ad get it posted. The big one I wanted to get out there was the picks protection so you can make your picks accordingly with this in mind. None of the small changes should make any difference to your choices anyway, unless you want to pick a Chinese player because Olympic medals will likely gain points in the future with the thinking that millions of young Chinese players will be motivated to win Olympic gold just like Qinwen Zheng. |

*the basic concept is the same.

If Victorian lawmakers found out about this thread, they'd put me behind bars.

very good pick. she's been doing so well in Abu Dhabi qualies and now main draw after winning AO juniors. plays Ons today which should be really insightful

well if no-one else is gonna flag her, I might as well.
Ashlyn Krueger. |

I flag Mia Pohánková. hopefully she'll eventually lead me to glory

While the more famous flags have done very well in Dubai this week, one lesser known one has been tearing it up on the ITF circuit lately.
edgeAI @edgeAIapp Yet another straight sets win for Victoria Mboko (18). She defeated Jia-Jing Lu 6-4, 6-1 at the W35k Manchester to reach her 4th ITF final in a row. Mboko in 2025: 3 ITF 4 ITF Finals 21 Matches (1 was RET) 21 Wins 40 Sets played 40 Sets won Only 2 tie breaks 9 Bagels |

there will be points tomorrow, either Clara for making top 20 or Mirra for making top 10. Both will likely eventually happen regardless.

Valentova? This Valentova?
Journeyman • June 27, 2024 7:34 PM BST I'm pleased to see that Kristina Dmitruk (once a shoe in for the JM Five until she vanished off the face of the earth for half a year) has resurfaced and has made it to a QF clash in a W75 with the fixed ceiling Hipster queen that edy keeps trying to sell, Tery Valentova. |
|
By:
She has grown on me. It was the USO final against Hui that had put me off. I thought she seemed a bit predictable and inflexible. Also she started to look worryingly like when she hit the main tour she'd be an 'always injured' risk. She seems to have more intensity now and she's got the experience of playing with Noskova against main tour players in BJK (where she'll probably be a main staple).
She's not as potentially exciting as Laura but you'd picked Laura. I'm revising her from fixed ceiling Hipster queen to slightly higher fixed ceiling reliable grafter. |

Caramba don't even think about picking Boisson.

Mirra's loss today keeps her out of the top 5 for a little longer. Still has a good chance to get there later in the summer with Jasmine defending Wimbledon final and Jess defending lots in North America.

By:
Just remember that Edy gets a 2.5 point boost on Sunday 29th June when Olivia Rodrigo plays the pyramid stage.
Kostyuk then doing something at Wimbledon could ruin your plans. |

Linda N swirling near the top 20 but she could have been on for 3.5 points if she could close out a winning position.

|
By:
I've shown good patience, but can you please credit me my Olivia Rodrigo points?
|
|
By:
Agreed. Olivia Rodrigo carefully navigated the first set against the Prodigy, knocking it out of the park with Brit pandering Colin the Caterpillar references.
The Prodigy came back well in the second set with a storming version of Breathe. Liv came though in the decider by wheeling out Robert Smith for a storming rendition of Just Like Heaven 2.5 points as you agreed to edy or save yourself a point and do the right thing, disregard the Diana Schnaider points when you picked her when she was in a final. After six years of this you don't want an astersisked win surely |
