SaMeBe, I swear I meant Victoria Osuigwe and not Whitney. You've known me for so long as a tennis forumite. Do you really think I'd pick someone who would go on a 17 match (and counting) losing streak across all levels (WTA main draws, qualies, ITF).
By:
according to https://www.itftennis.com/en/players/victoria-osuigwe/800636441/usa/jt/s/activity/#pprofile-info-tabs Victoria played her first ITF matches in March 2000, seven months after you made your Osuigwe pick. Your request has been denied. But feel free to pick her in 2022.
By:
Yeah, like I'm going to pick another Osuigwe.

2020 (no picks
.. ( gives y'all a handicap with the lefty future world #1 as my 2019 flag )2021 picks D. Parry (FR) L. Noskova (CZ) |

Noskova (17) vs. Bartunkova (15) at the final of the W25 Milovice. If no massive evildoer snatches them up before me, I will enter them as my flags for 2022. ![]() |

loose lips sink ships.

and even after I decided not to be mean and steal them from edy, he still got owned
![]() |
By:
Oh no, I'm surrounded by all three of CHARLIE'S ANGELS !
![]() |
By:
I came on to post Parry (front loading strategy) and Noskova (massive long term potential). I then saw on the Davis Cup thread that Edy has bizarrely tried to prebook her for 2022 while simultaneously trying to play down her potential !!?
Gave it some thought and concluded I still had every right to pick her as 1 - I picked her in good faith (I expect you to take my word on this) 2 - Caramba's rules are pretty clear and don't allow prebooking However, in the interest of opening up the competition a bit I will give Noskova up. Now Edy just needs to sweat it out another 30 days before he can pick her himself ![]() |

Revised selection (who would have been my first 2022 pick anyway) = the lassie who nearly won Montevideo despite missing a flight (and having to sleep on the airport floor)
2021 flags D.Parry V.J.Kasintseva |
By:
oh no, n88uk will be devastated
By:
Sorry, this is now getting both silly and unfair.
If N88 was wanting to prebook Kasintseva in another thread then that is not something I have seen. He has made his 2021 picks. I have not been on here for the best part of 2 years (hence no 2020 picks). Rule 6 at the top of the page is * You can not save picks to the next year. If this rule has changed it should have been posted in this thread. What happens if new people want to join in. Are they supposed to pore through every megathread and s/ot thread to check who has been prebooked? How is that even manageable. |
By:
Don't take my comments too seriously Journeyman. But n88uk is indeed a big fan of VJK. he hardly posts on here much anymore though
By:
There's no such thing as prebooking. Edy was just either being careless not accounting for semi-active posters and potential newcomers or trying to sell us bad picks.
Good to have you "back" in the competition. |
By:
edy was just being playful and seeing who would bite if he posted his potential picks out there
By:
or perhaps trying to sell us bad picks like you say, but I don't know about that
By:
not this time I don't think, but he has tried that in the past.
By:
not accounting for semi-active posters and potential newcomers or trying to sell us bad picks.
He has certainly come up with a few howlers.Ok thanks guys I was feeling a bit targetted there. Yeah I agree I don't think Edy really was 'selling' Noskova but if he legit doesn't want her I would want to take her back. |
By:
You can have her back regardless. Just announce what you wanna do here in good time before the end of the year. (Normally there's no changing picks at all, but I'll allow it here as an exception due to edy's shenanigans).
By:
edy always causing problems
By:
Ok cool. Thanks for making the exception.
Because of the history with the Tauson thing which I know he was a wee bit upset about, let's leave it open for 24 hours for Edy to decide if he wants her or not. Specifically 1 - If Edy posts on this thread by 19.15 Thursday GMT that he wants her then my pick is Victoria. 2 - If he doesn't then my pick is Noskova. (But I'm having one of them! I'm not a total muppet! ) |
By:
Have made an effort today to make sure he knew about this, guess he was selling after all/ changed his mind/ who tf knows... The dude is sphynxlike
I welcome the next Czech tennis princess back to my team. 2021 flags, FINAL decision, NO further messing about. D.Parry L.Noskova Cue Noskova now making a whirlwind rise to stardom.. You know it's coming ![]() |

It's all good. I likely would have picked Noskova, but I have a replacement in mind that might just have better yet potential. We'll see in ten years. Not going to announce her name anywhere though.
I was in no way trying to point out that I was upset with you with my post the other day. Nor was I really trying to preload her. I can be a bit playful at times. |
By:
Good to see back posting in the competition.
By:
You are too good for this world btw.
I wouldn't have dreamed of giving up a pick like you offered. If it hasn't been officially picked by anyone in this thread, everything goes. |
By:
you wouldn't give up Anett even if I requested you do so?
![]() |
By:
Aw thanks, nice to have some closure.
![]() Tbh I really didn't want to give her up. I have a replacement in mind that might just have better yet potential. We'll see in ten years. Not going to announce her name anywhere though. That's probably for the best ![]() |

By:
yeah, VJK!
By:
shall I pick her or nah?
By:
That would be a sick twist
![]() Just pick her Wise 1 - She's worth a couple of short term points I reckon so would open up the comp a bit 2 - You've posted about her so you've every right to grab her as your flag 3 - It means me and N88 don't have to set our alarm clocks for New Years day and can have a lie in |
By:
4 - If I can come back from the dead then some other semi-active player could come back from the dead and grab her. (Aaron?)
Realistically there's almost zero percent chance she lasts to January anyway. |

I officially select Victoria Jiménez Kasintseva
