is Grant the mug on basketball forum who said Norris Cole was no good at basketball because he wasn't as good as Russell Westbrook and Stephen Curry?

Halep must think she has been hit by a juggernaut compared to the coasting in her previous matches

This could get ugly scoreboard-wise for Halep. She's played very well but lost five games in a row now after Masha's slow start.

im gonna lay everything now on sharapova.

if she manages to break, odds will not go much more shorter, but if halep hold and makes 2 good points market will panic again

its only pointless because its never followed :) its the same with slow play in golf

The thing with following time violation rule is enforcing it actually makes for a bad look for the sport anyway. You end up with the player arguing, the crowd whistling, enforcing it is more hassle than it's worth, when the actual time taken doesn't take away from the spectacle.

true but only because its not followed. if it was regularly enforced, it would be the norm, and there would be no point in complaining

in the short run yes. if it was actually enforced all the time, players would respect the rules and it wouldn't take as much time. one problem with enforcing it all the time though is that sometimes players need extra time to recover, for instance after a mega long rally, and if they don't get it quality of play would be suffering.

Exactly. There's no definite rule that actually works in tennis.

You put a shot clock on the court, it simply doesn't work. What if the French crowd are in a frenzy when the time hits zero?

There's too many factors to take into account for a strict 20 second clock to work.
