I don't think it really favours either much beyond saying that wisewords. But whoever wins the first set has a big advantage. Hot day etc, first set already brutal.

I do think Sharapova is more likely to come back from a set down I guess than Halep is.

I would be surprised if Masha could keep this level for the whole match so it's down to Simona to remain consistent

For grunting, never. An umpire warning Sharapova for grunting is basically signing their own P45.

He did tell her that the she has to speed things up between serving during the change over.

Did you know that the French Open final is on right now? You might like to watch that rather than something else. It's a really good match.

Well I got on Shara @2.26 when 2-0 down...Halep broke at earliest point in the match she could have, given maria a chance to relax more and now she has steadily getting the right balance now..think if shara wins this first (in which case i think she will) then Halep has nothing to lose going into the second ...Halep is a great all round player so she can adapt herself ...and if she can find a rythm of winning points then she can this to a 3rd, as also shara as we seen is struggling to stay consistent for a full match

I think Shara will be able to grind it out though over the 3 sets if that is what it comes down to

It feels the sort of match Sharapova can beat Halep into submission in.
