Yer but it's caused major problems, because New Haven are now trying to downgrade to international event and just pay the people they want. They need to find a new international place in America for that week.

Serena will throw games now.

No way she wins the set 6-0.

The GOAT event of the year is still going strong in Baku.

I like New Haven

New Haven is staying, but they are messing around trying to downgrade to an international. I doubt they will be allowed though, because multiple 10 players normally like to play it.

nothing to be surprised, tennis wise it was looking like 6-1 6-2 job for serena but still its clan williams match

It's just the continuation of USA events hitting the wall on both ATP and WTA. The problem is the lack of USA players to actually sell the events now, because obviously none of the Europeans wants to play them.

Ejdesgaard is clever player, was sadly double bageled by Cornet at last year's Woz Open but got her back later by playing a little prank on her when she played Woz.

Once Serena and Venus are gone, even events like Charleston despite being premier are in big trouble. I mean who is going to want to play this. After a month long on hard courts in Indian Wells and Miami, on a surface that doesn't exist in any other tournament thus leads to nothing. The only players who will play are either Americans or those desperate for form/points in the weak field.

So it will just be New Haven the week before USO or are they still trying to have another tournament that week?

Once Serena and Venus are gone, even events like Charleston despite being premier are in big trouble. I mean who is going to want to play this. Well, they have those comfy sofas instead of chairs, as JJ pointed out, so they at least got that going for them. And Woz might continue to play it as long as she's with Rory since the US Masters will always be in that area at that time of the year. |

As radw - M> Kirilenko 6-1 whith 1 rebreak.

They are trying caramba, but I doubt they get one sorted for this year. They will definitely try and fill the spot though, because it creates a major headache. New Haven normally has a reasonably high cutoff, but the majority of players who want to play before grand slams are your lower ranked players, and these will have nowhere to really go.
It's a tough slot to fill because most potential buyers these days are in Europe and Asia, but obviously you can't have a tournament in Europe or Asia the week before the USO. |

Oh dear this is a bit embarrassing for Venus

Because Paszek and Sabine are mugs ;[p. It's not a bad tournament in the sense of being a good setting. But no top player is ever going to want to play here anymore, it has one of the worst spots on the calendar. It used to get far better fields when played at a better time, now it's just an event in clear decline being propped up by Serena and Venus' presence.
Same is true of the premiers in Paris and Moscow. Both in utter garbage spots on the calendar (who is going to want to play Australian Open-Paris lol?). It's almost like the WTA is trying to kill these events really. |

The only person who looks more uncomfortable than Venus here is Serena
I think even she is desperate for a contest! |
|
By:
I think Woz will stay in the top 10, but not much higher, for a long time. As long as she doesn't fall far too behind in the rankings I think she'll also be a decent draw card, not necessarily for her tennis but because she's a name. Can't see why all these exho tournaments are paying her if she isn't a draw.

By:
This is pretty much just shows how far Venus has fallen. There was a lot of nonsense going about on tennisforum how Venus is the only player who can stand up to Serena even now, which is obviously just a load of s**t.
|

By:
Serena probably win this set 6-4. Will throw the rest of the return games.
