I'm on Nadal at 2.18.
Think about it chaps: Nadal to win a match at odds against, that don't happen very often. Fed was shyte against Wawa and was lucky to get through. Wawa choked at the important moments. Nadal is no choker and I think he'll just muller Fed's bachand and win comfortably. |

game over fed backers
i've created my official jinxing fred |

full bank job on Nadal... all £50 of it lol

i think that logic of fed's backers is something like that:
1) fed is a GOAT (sorry to inform you but he's retiring soon) 2) fed needs points 'coz he defends title here (he also needed them in dubai and rotterdam) 3) nadal is not fit and he was struggling against gulbis yesterday (gulbis played very well and was serving very good. he only choked in 2nd set but still he played probably better than wawa yesterday) i'm not advising anyone to back nadal or trying to convince anyone. it's just my point of view. i'd really like to hear arguments of fed backers. maybe i'm wrong. |
|
By:
nadal had a very tough game v gulbis which he won. fed struggled v wawa and he choked
|
|
By:
i still can't forget that look on fed's face in the most part of the final set
really i never saw this before.. moreover, nadal will make him run even more than wawa did, i guess |

I think everyone's forgetting the bread and butter fact here, Nadal leads head to head 20-10

fed often starts strong and then choking a bit
so maybe much better odds on nadal inplay. |

It's not easy to price this match because of the invariables surrounding Nadal (lack of HC matches, injury or not???). Federer was 1.74 favourite this time last year and knocked Nadal out of this tournament in straight sets.
As for Federer's match against Wawrinka, it was Federer who let himself down by not serving out the 2nd set. Prior to that he was in control of the match. |
|
By:
really looking forward to it

Fed is struggling with back issues....he was clearly feeling it yesterday again. I favour Nads just slightly tonight due to the height of the bounce here on the new court...its huge. Most of last nights Nad's match was played in the air - mooonballing and high kicking topspin. Like Nole said - the court is clay-prepped. I can't see Fed dealing with it in this form.....with a bad back. On the other hand, this is the first time in the history of their rivalry that Nadal is going to be forced to play within the time rules....so the devil in Fed is going to want to make him run and see him puff a bit. |
|
By:
yeah the court is slower
|
|
By:
no, it wasn't a face full of pain
it was a face of a man that is absolutely unconfident in this own shots. that's how i read it. and that challenge discussion with umpire and supervisor. it was very pathetic from fed |
|
By:
still anything can happen
maybe fed just catched some dejavu from his match against berdy in the second set he began to play normally in the end of the final set maybe he'll regroup and come as another person |
|
By:
we may hate one or another, laugh at their age, diminish their injuries but the fact that its probably one of the last encounters in the greatest rivalry of tennis, we took for granted and witnessed in past years between those two champs make me bit sad
![]() respect for both |

Nadal and Fed have very specific playstyles, all the other players actually look the same playing... but people seem to like more of the Nole/Murray matches these days, go figure
|
|
By:
i like fed's style more tbh
|
|
By:
yes they have 28 slams between them, when they go there will be a massive hole
enjoy |
|

and that challenge discussion with umpire and supervisor. it was very pathetic from fed
...no I rather think he had a point and was right. Obviously he was a bit tetchy about the way he was playing....but he acted within his rights...and then got right on with it after the ref had ruled. Nadal finally getting caught coaching and then trying to deny it....that was pathetic. :^) |

i'll be b*lloxed in the morning but this is worth staying up for!!
