The thing is I think fed is mentally weak these days. Nadal has had it over him for years, now Berdych, those three double faults in a row against Murray in London.
By:
Nadal has own problem these days,he was away from tennis for long time and not playing hard for months.
It will be interesting to see what Nadal can do today but expect not that much. He is very slow at the moment and this will be enough for Roger make a job. |
By:
Yer I was ready to be all over Fed in this quarter final @ even shorter prices than he is now, but the way Federer has played has really put me off. I won't be getting involved in this anymore. I think Berdych will beat the winner anyway.

really interesting match this one, Fed looked poor to me against Stan with those errors on the backhand coming in. Nadal will have something to prove here and will give it everything, if Nadal gets ahead, I cant see fed coming back so I will wait.
By:
not gonna be involved, but I expect Fed to dominate 1st set, not sure what will happen then though

GOAT looked a shadow of his former self lastnight, broken to love 3 times. Everytime he gets behind in a service game now he seems to sulk once 0-30 chances are he will be broken. That was never the Fed of old he would just fire down 4 bombs.. job done. Would love to watch the match but wont be betting pre-match as although Rafas results aint exactly convincing I have yet to see him play at IW yet.
Stan should have taken Fed out lastnight he had him on the ropes at 2-0 final set and Fed has spit out his dummy only moments earler (but was very polite with it) that 3rd game was choke of the week for me, even worse than Petras end to the 2nd set!! EDS |

goat was looking like mug yesterday. i never saw fed co unconfident on court. never ever. he can play only 1.5 sets of tennis these days.
nadal gonna crush him i guess wanna see how it goes first |
By:
even gulbis would win against goat i guess

anyone who knows anything about tennis can see the steady decline in Feds game. It is a little sad but thats the nature of the game, and indeed life itself. I do wonder if he will retire with dignity or continue on the downward slope. Guest appearences in doubles grand slams would be a nice way to stay in the game and keep the fans happy, you never know he could pick up a title?
By:
The reason why Federer bothers stays around on the tour these days is to meet and mix it with the likes of Nadal, Djoker and Murray, if they weren't playing tennis, Fed would have quit with his 17 slams, playing these players is his sole motivation not playing his against his countryman, he was just being kind to wawa, after all his beaten him about 15 times to one, against Rafa, he'll be a lot sharper.

do you even know the goat is carrying a back injury? didnt you see how he was handicapped yesterday? didnt you know he wasnt practising because of his injury the day before? stan choked in set 1 and 3.
this fact is calculated into the odds. thats why they are so high. a fit goat would be 1.3 against this nadal who is at about 60% of his best. glad to help you out guys. |
By:
Yes I know he didn't practice but he got three three sets (in 2hr 20) with this 'bad back' which he says is fine to continue
"I think I was a little little lucky to come through it in the end," said Federer, who continued to say a sore back would not hinder his pursuit of a first title of 2013."Overall I'm very pleased that I was able to play today and play at a high level," Federer said |

fed should not even be fav

i think i will lay fed 2-0. i ust dont quite trust rafa just yet.

By:
So if Federer beats Nadal what next?
Will he go back to being great again lol, I don't actually think he;s the GOAT, but write him off this easy at your own peril, you'll look a bit silly if he wins. |

By:
silly-shcmilly
who cares! |
By:
that's just a point of view. forum users are not some experts with world known names to trust them blindly. (i dunno any expert like that btw)
you have your own brain to do what you want |
By:
not asking you to care mate, just making the point that Federer is not finished as tomorrow morning will prove.

nadal slowly getting his act together, played 2 matches on hc he will improve. federer is not playing well he may play better, but odds are generous on nadal

This match has got to be a wait and see surely with ? marks over both of them. Shame wawa couldn't get the 1-12 record out of his head yesterday.
By:
on another note..... I did have to lol at the comments made on SS about Berlocq lastnight, he said that he unlikely to take more than a handful of games off muggy and that he had no power Personally I was very impressed with the way the clay courter faced up to muggy and with a little more composure could have easily taken the 1st set. One to watch in future quali. rounds me thinks.

Federer hasn't been his best, plus i'd rather see Nadal win this tournament anyway. Sick of seeing Fed and Joker winning all the time. Backing Nadal
By:
1) Fed was so bad against wawa 2) Nadal knows how to beat him and will murder that weak backhand all the time
By:
what time does it start?
By:
2am i think
By:
hollywood is right nadal will just hit the backhand
By:
any info on how bad Federer's back is??
By:
Bad Knee vs Bad Back.
Fed marginally favoured for me, only because Rafa is further off full fitness. Only bet for me is back Fed if he loses the first set, at a value price. |
