simply keep the rules the way they are and open a seperate "will there be a retirement" market, which people can use to hedge. problem solved and should make for some interesting trading at times.

Seems to me like Betfair should take these views seriously. There are a lot of people who want this rule changed. If I email them again about this any time and they tell me most people are pleased with the rule, I shall not be pleased.

If a player retires all bets should be void. Simple, and outrageous that Betfair continue to apply this rule to st betting etc. only. Please change this Betfair!

There are a lot of people who want this rule changed. from someone who drones on and on and on about statistics that is a pretty stupid statement. what's your sample size? just because a few people post on this thread that constitutes "a lot"? you are a fool. |

It also secures those that spend time studying/following/trading on a match and are in profit on the player that is winning, or on both players, because of it. There is really no reason they shouldn't get paid for their effort just because the losing party can't be bothered to continue the match.
It's all been said at the start of this thread. Go to a bookie if you still disagree on it. sigh |

The rule on Betfair used to be 1 ball played...they would make more commission if that was the case now. It was changed for a reason...and it is more than a fair rule now. |

Someone who, by his own account has worked out a fabulous tennis scheme that guarantees profits but still punts outside of it too because the tennis scheme stuff is all too slow for him, should be cautious about calling others greedy.
