People can be injured without retiring but the injury drastically reducing their chances of winning. Of course the prices would be influenced by injuries.

The void on retirement rule wouldn't do a thing against people like him because despite what the rampers are saying, often players are simply not injured at all or to a big enough extend and hence won't retire.

Does that affect a whole bunch of people? Unlikely, but I have seen people ask plenty of what most would consider newcomer questions (we've all been or still are newcomers right?) on here or blindly listening to others they can hardly know, so I wouldn't be completely surprised if rampers are able to mislead some people here and there. Not gonna happen every day, but imagine you've just made a **** bet. It lost.

I mean this is betting, you get desperate and greedy people all the time. You dont even necessarily have to be a moron. You're simply in a tough spot, looking for a way to recover some money. Maybe you're a...Basketball punter but there's no more basketball going on so you go to the tennis. Then you see someone who's been a member for years (can be trusted otherwise betfair surely would've kicked him, surely?) post something about a dramatic injury. And look, even 2-3 minutes after the inital post nobody has said anything about that injury not being true or that guy being a known liar. You see your golden chance to quickly and easily recover your money.

Not gonna happen shitload of times, not even remotely often, but I'm sure it is gonna happen. Every misled newcomer or generally any misled person is one too many.

oh, and you know what people like him usually do when someone asks them to explain their ramps? What he said to me after I had confirmed that it was Tanasugarn who took the MTO and that stuff about Kirilenko was a plain lie?

do you realize I'm the person who talks on here the most about how cute certain male players are? Gay talk is not going to enrage me.

that's good to know edy. i like people like you.

Along with once altering and posting a message to make me look. I have to admit though that altered message was at least a bit funny and creative, albeit very childish.

But you are not bothered about the new punters who have put a bet on a player who then retires and then come on here and ask if the bets are paid or not? They do so, because either a) they have been using bookies, most of whom would refund their money and they didnt check the Betfair rules or b) they didnt check the Betfair rules because they guessed the bet should be refunded morally.

And I would say that many retirements are because a player does not have an injury, but were just getting some match practice in before a bigger tournament the next week.

The retirement rule is there in big bold red writing on every market...

Rampers don't have big red writing next to their names.

Lochinvar = ramper . I catched him a couple of times in 2011 ramping about imaginary injuries, along with Darlo

bookies only do this (void bets)because theyt doesnt want to be accused of manipulating, as they setting the odds they might have informations about injuries etc.

but betfair is mostly an open market which is created by us,not single entity

Last 4000 ATP, 3 set matches = 3907 completed (97.67%).
Last 11000 ATP, 3 set matches = 11720 completed (97.45%).
These figures are up to and including IW 2012.

Percentages are static and are not alarmingly high, nobody is disadvantaged by these rules and they have been in place for a long time.

Conclusion = accept it and move on.

only a mug would want to void the retirement rule, wich is the MOST profitable option in betfair. SOmetimes you will be on the winner side, sometimes not.. but as someone said, only in 1 of 100 cases the injured player retires so quickly that you can close your positions. Usually you have time to change your positions or stay with the faker.

If you are always on the loser side, you are doing something wrong.

Lochinvar is not my friend, but he is someone that I have no problems with and seems to be quite a sensible punter. I have rarely seem him post injury information which is incorrect

Srichaphan what are the odds for two ankle rolls in 3 days?

Fecked up court, ultra rich yet can't provide proper dirt. should be sued.

Once again proof that Roger Federer is the smartest man in tennis. I was questioning his decision not to play this tourney, but obviously he KNEW.

Signed.

It's like betting on a football match when the floodlights lose power.

Why should a result stand on a match that doesn't get played to the expected finish, be it 90 minutes in foobtall, or two sets won?

no it's not. the actions of the players don't contribute to a floodlight failure. if a player runs his/her oppo into the ground and s/he wins i want to be paid.
