i lost money there but i think retirements are  one of ways to lose match, i think odds often reflecting possibility of retirements so you getting better odds in most cases

wonder if you wouldnt complain if hase retired and bets would be voided

Sign. All the other bookies void. Injurie is not caused by winning or loosing. it makes me bet on tennis never longer then the first set on BF because when there is an injurie in the first set the match is void.... What is the logic in that??????????

retirements are most often caused by losing

most retirements happends to players who are losing,so may just doesnt want to play anymore and retires.
monaco's kind of situation is rare

i think much more often  people would be seething if void after retirement, than seething after bets stands in todays situation

Monaco is the better player on clay. It is obvious. Last week he played very hard matches
all the week, plus jet leg ... he was high risky for backing today... earlier we saw Feliciano, Ramos
losing quite easily...
After backing Him high , who did not lay Monaco at 1.1 and lower is a fool !

I made my day just trading on Monaco's Injury.
This chap almost broke his ankle but decided to try to get treatment and keep on
First point after treatment I hit a faboulous 1.70, 2 points later he quits
Thanks injury rule!

I think the bunch of anglosaxons who gave me the opportunity to buy a new scooter just  cannot read the face of an argentinian.
He was actually smiling straight after the injury

Totally agree-  All bets should be void in a retirement.  Ive won and lost in these situations.  Its fairer for everyone if the bets are simply void.

BF won't make any money if bets are void after retirement - so won't change.

And yes this was a playeble injurie, nice to take a risk he could not play on and make nice money. But normaly it is just over and out.

Less money for Betfair is a spurious argument. The number of retirements and the money gained from them in comparison to the increased amount of money people would risk on matches if this rule was not in place would surely be far outweighed.

As bb66 said, 1-ball rule is what it should be changed into.

Betfair makes their rules, you can accept or deny, it's your choice. But you can pretend Betfair changes their rules or their way to do things just because you lost some money in a match, it's the risk involved with gambling. I wasn't here yesterday but I bet Happy this thread has something to do with Monaco's match, right?

i would opt for extending one set protection to one set and 2 games to be played

one set rule protect from players comming on the court injured who just want to check if they can play, its ok rule but ofte players trying finnish the set only and then retires

one set+ 2 games protection, then the will of God
