French song leaked, and it sounds atmospheric. Not getting lots of love online/on the forums, but this will blow the roof off the stadium

Still, lots of Jury votes being shared around. Finland, France and Australia all fishing in the 200+ points pond

Surely they'll have some shady going ons to get strongly behind one and ensure Israel (which with all things being equal deserve a pretty solid jury score), otherwise it opens up Israel to clinch victory (assuming they do their big advertising for votes again).

Greece could top the vote, outside of Israel (assuming they heavily advertise for votes again), and could do better than expected with the jurors now there's 2 younger ones in each set. It's got a good message too. I have been tempted at the prices to get involved.I'm heavily on Finland and Denmark and got what I could on Australia 20-40 after it dropped and some very big prices Cyprus.France are going with Monroe whose going to be singing a fun mix of pop, urban and classical song, similar to Austria's winning song sung by JJ last year. She's an exceptional vocalist www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVus6pAulfE so will be interesting to listen to the song when it drops.

I was wondering if you were getting involved with France Lifter !

I find Monroe's character mesmerising in that song but maybe that's just me. Louane last year, who had to swallow sand while singing about her life 10 years prior, I don't think was as powerful. However she got 7th in a much stronger year, 3rd with juries, 14th with tele. This year Finland obv very strong but I'd have their prices a lot closer.

It may not perform with the TVs I agree, though I think just calling it fanwnk would be a tad unfair, due to it's decent quality.

I think it will do very well with juries.

All countries now revealed. Linda & Pete very strong but I don't think they're certs at all (got them onside, reckless not to). They haven't stormed the stats like their compatriots KAJ did (Swedish Fins). KAJ came 4th. "Liekinheitin", not the most catchy name.

Its accuracy is good at the end (if you take the winner from the top 2 of what the poll says). I don't know what it's like at 2 months from final. I think Finland wins btw, just looking for cracks. Anyway we've got the whole rehearsal period to enjoy.

I appreciate it now. Now thinking Denmark and Finland have a solid minimum support which I'm now not sure France has (although it's my personal fav of the 3, she has great charisma).

The Euro betting community really are abit clueless, I have to say. Listened to a pod where they heard Denmark when it first came out and thought Denmark was a non-qualifier. They also could only see Finland as a top-10, with top-5 as the best-case scenario. Now, I'm not saying they're guaranteed to win, and I'm not backing them sub-3s, but it is quite funny how blind they can be.

I think the issue is overthinking it and needing a song to be perfect. Hence them not taking the 8s when it was there, and now playing it down super hard. I do have some question marks after seeing the live. But you also have to look at the competition. Who else is there? Australia will get many jury points, and likely the same with France, but will they also get a strong public vote? I don't trust the public to vote for the Aussies, and stats suggest Finland leads by a lot there. Denmark I do love. Hmm..

I'd take France and Australia against the front 2 all day long.

FIN and DEN  two of the craziest prices I've seen in specials for a long time. Especially FIN. Well done to those who are on at the fancy prices but If I hadn't seen the polls, then 40/1 wouldn't seem outlandish. There's no real song there. No hook. Just a miserable looking guy, lots of fire and someone playing a violin

I'd take France over them at the prices but Aus is old fashioned isn't it and the public don't like Aus much.

No hook. Just a miserable looking guy, lots of fire and someone playing a violin

Fig, I'd say the 'hook' is the violin for certain - those parts just lift the song to make sense of his vocal part more overall - without the strings as you suggest it would be very lacking.

We shouldn't forget though that the instruments are maybe just as important to any song - Nocturne was a 'song' that even won the ESC with what was almost entirely instrumental.

His vocal is a good enough counterpart to the hook of the strings parts, which is why it works overall. This isn't just my own view, hence the polling showing so high. If anything the live final show might even uplift it further still, though that remains to be seen.
