Chris is not even pretending to be a woman, apart from the stage act, so bizarre that he is listed in the bfex in the top female market. It's bizarre enough that he is entering as his performing alter ego, rather than himself. Unlikely to be tangible to the pay outs, although obviously will get maximum producer assistance.

Fair chance that he will get an early p1mp and the usual SO and high scores, difficult to know if the market will buy it. Probably a bit.

Not sure why you guys are so obsessed with drag queens. Haven't they always been listed as female, in every specials event?
It's really not an issue. But the right seem obsessed by it

For me it's an observation, nothing to do with 'the right', and certainly not an obsession. No idea about other specials events either, but Chris is a man, yet listed in the betting for top woman. The observation is that he isn't even pretending to be a woman in real life, aside from when playing his alter ego that mimics being one. Tom Chambers for example didn't carry on pretending he was a doctor when he was doing scd. I actually can't think of any previous examples where runners have done the show as if they were still in character (though obviously will have leaned on them for certain performances on numerous occasions).

The betting angle really is that the show will be pulling out all the stops to show him in the best light possible. Fairly sure he will 'surprise', be light on his feet et al. They'd be absolutely delighted to get him to the final. Trading shorter in both markets seems fairly likely to me.

You seem quite obsessed Plain

La Voix will be very entertaining from the clips I've seen, but of no interest in terms of a bet to win or trade

I expect the winner to come from the front 4. The 2 ringers, Lewis and Amber, very likely to be in the final, but also very likely to be beaten by George or Vicky if they make the final

Not obsessed but your profile pic on Gormley is Lindsay Shepherd

Self awareness never a strong point of the right

The Lyndsay Shepherd case centred around compelled speech in (in universities in her case, and in law in Canada's case). Nothing to do with men performing as drag queens on scd Laugh

I have nothing against drag queens in an appropriate setting, I would have a few performances myself back in the day. But I'm not going to pretend he is actually a woman. Do you?

Not sure I would couch my opposition to compelled speech as an obsession, but I do care about it, as in it's wrong. But compelled speech has nothing to do with Chris or his alter ego 'La Voix' or his participation in scd.

I thought Harry was a bit of interest, have traded a very modest green on him. Was OTT so would need to tone down the showing off. But no McCausland type of opportunities as of yet, at least for me. Mentioned it last year but McCausland may well have changed the game permanently, ie quality of dancing and scoring accuracy became transparently redundant (to the viewers). As per my post upthread, viewing the launch show was a huge drag (pardon the pun). I'll give the lives one or two weeks max, to see how they play things post Chris M. Potentially I thought they may try to swing it back to semi serious before it kicked off, but no sign of that on the launch show.

You're free to pick and choose what she's known for but here's a piece she wrote about drag queens. I think most reasonable people would consider she has a problem with them. The fact you went to the trouble of changing your profile pic to her is just bizarre tbh

You appear to know more about her than I do (and more about me!). This was many years ago I changed a profile pic of one of the forums I'm a member of (and no longer participate in), perhaps it is you who is obsessed. I have no intention of debating something trivial I did many years ago, or why, but I can see that the url you posted contains the word 'kids'. If she is/was against drag queens performing for kids, yes I would be aligned with her on that. Aren't you?

First time i've replied to 1 of your comments in years, that's how obsessed I am.

What was it about this particular comment that triggered you?

You might disagree with me that a man should be listed in the top male market, and not top female, for betting purposes. But it's hardly an irrational observation. A man mimicking a woman is still a man, and has the physical advantages/capabilities and power of a man.

When all is said and done if Vicky can show a steady improvement in dancing week on week she'll win this series with ease.

Hello, good to see some handbags flying in true forum style.

I'm not even on the right as most know, but I agree with Cider here. Trans person could be listed as a woman in accordance with the law. But a drag act is not a woman, so having them in the TF market yes is a bit odd.

I'm a left-winger in political/voting sense, but have to say I agree with cider that a man pretending to be a woman should not be listed in top female markets either.

Harry good, good mover. Needs to be a biiit less emotional but will hopefully calm down. Push up thing tonight has been a great USP

Overreaction in the market for me

Enough dancing ability and slap bang in the middle of the bbc voting sweet spot. Pretty obvious I'd say, little competition (aside from potentially production). Of course with his day job, I doubt they will object to him winning.

Lewis is palpably a raging ringer, I can't see him being that popular. With the undertone of c0cky (unlike George)

As I said before, he has a hugely loyal following. I thought he would go close on following alone, so if he can dance a little bit then yeah

Very much with lifter. George won't need his fans. MEM's will love him. The only worry was the dancing part and he looks to have a lot of potential on that front too

..oh and agree with cider Grin

No idea why they'd want to stop him. You could see him presenting on the BBC
By:

Ostensibly no obvious reason, but they have killed off many a male voting magnet in the past. Sometimes runners come along that they simply can't stop. However, I feel like the producers would love a fellow 'influencer' to win.

La Voix one of the weakest of the men tonight.

I'd have thought he'd be a dream winner for the BBC. They're always trying to engage the tiktok generation. George and his pro, the perfect combination to do that

We've had plenty of female winners in recent years,so no need to kill of the popular male
By:

Agreed, I guess it's just that inherent risk of being at the whim of production. He's a very likely winner for me otherwise.
