lol i think i didn't write that correctly, round the wrong way
But darts is just a pub game you have said ? so its not applicable under normal rules and the current world champion could easily be overlooked by a far more popular player |
By:
anyway you are still clutching, and when is my question going to be answered. How often does the market get it that wrong ?
By:
anyone ? or is Clyde just chatting sh1t ? plenty he said ? remember i want names of 2nd or 3rd favs at the time the noms were announced ? if no one can come up with a single name, then surely Littler will drift heavily the closer we get to the announcement

Can anyone explain why Luke Humphries aged 29 was not ahead of Luke Littler for being put on the forbes under 30 list this year ? which is basically decided in a very similar way as the spoty nommination process ?
This year’s class was selected from hundreds of nominations, submitted through a public online nomination form and generated from research and conversations with industry sources. Candidates must be 29 or younger as of April 9, 2024; they also could not have been previously named to a Forbes 30 Under 30 list. They were evaluated by a panel of judges including Mo Farah, the legendary British distance runner and four-time Olympic gold medalist; Sarai Bareman, FIFA’s Chief of Women’s Football; Rina Onur Şirinoğlu, a cofounder of Spyke Games; and Pontus Eskilsson, vice president of global partnerships at Twitch. or is this a special case year ? considering what Littler has done for darts !! |

Ok, not exactly then bear, but neither are your examples of silly noms in the past

Clydes question had nothing to do with winning, it was about someone getting a nom who wasn't No1 in their sport
His exact question was when there was a world champion and number 1 - quite a difference. |
By:
In the same year.
By:
The point still remains, you don't need to be champion in your sport to get a nom, it's that simple
By:
Such a shame you're not going to get as many female votes as you think stu
A large % of mums who have kids who would of probably voted for Keely will simply side with there kids who will want Luke to win, even more so when the trading cards hit the shelves before the award and worlds start with Littler fever going into overdrive once again with his name ringing around the halls of every school in the land. On the night, mums will either get pestered to vote for there hero or simply put there kids wishes before there own. Then ofc Littler is loved in his own right by many mums regardless, the fav loses out to Luke and its all one way traffic. Against you !!! |
By:
"Out of interest can you please back this statement up and give me lists of 2nd favs and even 3rd favs (incase Lando does it) at the time of the shortlist naming that were left off ?[/i]"
Seb Coe Tim Henman Marcus Rashford David Walliams |
By:
Sorry Stu, didn’t read Army’s 2,000 posts correctly as was bored after first one. Once collect on 4/1 Keely I’m sure I’ll feel better about it.
By:
"I'll wait for army come up with a name of someone who has been nominated for SPOTY, ahead of someone else who was the world champion and no 1 in their sport."
None yet then ... |
By:
im guessing Rashford the only realistic sports person this century then, i'll give you that i think. is that one person ? not loads then.
and can you explain why Littler was put before humphries for the forbes list ? |
By:
clyde
there will be one, around december time |
By:
More recently there's been plunges on Ronnie O'S and Tyson Fury who weren't shortlisted, but I'm not going to include them as there was a reasonable chance they'd be nominated
By:
you're going to lose a lot of money on this market Clyde with one track thinking
just coz its never happened doesn't mean it never will. December it will |
By:
"there will be one, around december time"
Phoebe Gill? |

Won't be so chirpy in December, be more like a mouse

Any parent would be shocked that Littler’s mum let him eat kebab after kebab and become obese at 16. A poor advert for children growing up. |
By:
Littler represents large swathes of the country. Unfortunately, they are the type that vote in BB, not SPOTY. Regardless, I'd give him every chance of winning if he was nominated. Don't hold your breath though.
By:
Clyde has answered for me in his 1st sentence Hib, only the posh wokesters will care about the kebabs
By:
Quite correct Clyde, i am fully expecting pub goers to turn out by the masses on the night. Yes spoty has always been a magazine show for the higher echelons of society which can easily be proved by the very low viewing figures. I predict a 5 million turnout and a brexit style vote for Luke. Things always change eventually, usually with some generational moment.

Thats what im banking on and i like the odds it happens
