If your're a kid growing up in northern ireland as of 2005 you only have one sporting hero

If your're a kid growing up in northern Ireland as of 2005, who could throw a molotov cocktail the furthest was the only sport you were interested in.

not sure why people are saying he shouldn't have been nommed, even the lesser stat of 13 top 10 finishes from 18 starts is impressive given 150 usually start a tournament

True i suppose. Only me and figgy watched the letics. The ratings people couldn't find anyone watching. The spoty jury didn't watch either seeing as how they've dumped the jock lad!

Josh Kerr's Gold at the WAC in the 1500m beating Ingebrigtsen was probably the single standout performance of the year

You could claim that DAS took the letics vote from her, but you could also say the mighty earps will punch her vote this time

I think Frankie has a 2nd massive hurdle to overcome outside of no regional support.

So are we too presume a very large portion of the female audience will be voting for Earps, and some for KJT. Meaning Frankie and Rory will be relying heavily on the mens vote but Rory has northern Island as back up. This means Frankie's chances mostly lay with men race goers.
Now call be cynical but how many fans watch there sport for the love of it, most golf fans are loaded coz rich people don't gamble as much as poor people. You never ever see a bookie in rich suburbs. Anyway thats a side issue, most people who watch golf, athletics etc do it coz they love the sport.
Now how many men watch racing for the love of it lol not very many, nearly trying to win the shopping money back, and how many men are looking at the SPOTY market right now and have already given up on Frankie. Knowing Earps is such a big fav and woke this woke that, joey barton etc etc.
From a racing punters point of view, this race is over so whats the point of me voting. I don't see any big motivation to fill out the forms from his demographic myself.

The campaign if it even gets off the ground is only going to work with people involved in racing at a work level, who are in the sport for the love of it.

i mean the bookies could always throw some adverts in the shops they have left to vote frankie, bu the only people in there mind are the addicts on the FOBT's.

Too many negatives to overcome for me, its all gonna boil down to northern island v liverpool

Its like the jungle again, the market siding with frankie over bellew  pre show
now it siding with him again over Rory
frankie was one time fav for CBB

The market simply gives him too much respect

Just can't see which trees she's pulling up.  Even hewitt has a bit of novelty factor, you can't rule him out of t3

i'd give Hewitt far more of a chance than frankie if that helps, pretty harsh but full bodied athletes seem to get more clout, i guess the competition for the less abled is very weak. Seems to be the same few who do very very well.

Hewitt will barely touch the NI vote, everything still points towards Rory being huge value, given his proven track record and NI's and the decent vote count he got in 2014.
9 years a very long wait, they are proud people over there and will see a podium has a victory as has happened many times in SPOTY

9 years for Rory, 6 years since a NI runner

Market probably thinks the lads will get nobbled. KJT being a beneficiary. Which is not an entirely unreasonable hypothesis. They also abandoned a national sport, and hate the other one.

Need to be factored in how influential the presentation and edit is. Most likely very, for any casuals with no predetermined pick.
