Nigel Farage is a huge distraction this year! Most likely won’t win but will be the talking point of the series and getting the screen time, he’s probably still worth a bet @8.6 to lay off later
So far I’ve got: Frankie Dettori and Danielle Harold |
By:
Agree on Danielle, but a layer of Frankie - his form showed before in CBB where he flopped in this kind of event. He might trade lower though, so fair enough if trading.
By:
I didn’t know he was on CBB! That’s worrying if he didn’t make much of an impact will have to check out some clips and reevaluate :/
By:
frankie done ok, made it all the way bar one day or two
By:
His supposed personality and popularity failed to appear much at all - he may play slightly better hear for a while, doing tasks etc, but in the final analysis I don't think he's a popular as the racing press would pretend he is.
By:
7th place out of 11 on CBB - fairly poor IMO.
By:
ps, if Frankie and Bellew are not in from the start - a little odd they get listed like starters in this?
By:
immaterial, farage and anyone who talks to him are gonna take up all the edit.
By:
I expect Frankie will do better on this than cbb. It's not a terrible price. Should be able to cope with the lack of food. Might be the only camp mate in IAC history to gain weight!
By:
coming in late in the strongest field for a very long time is gonna be hard for him to get home but frankie always good at that, trials should be no problems unless his claustrophobia is as bad as he says it is after the plane crash.
if he does well here, will it have any impact on SPOTY ? i seem to recall farah winning coz his kids were being funny in the background |
By:
won't affect spoty but the voting dynamics of this show are completely different to cbb, he is a lot older and playing for his post racing career. this voting audience lapped up the cheesy antics of Gino. infamously his bottom lip can drop quite easily, obviously a negative
By:
did he not have a hissy fit in the house ?
By:
it's apples and eggs imo. you're looking at ITV racing and QoS FD, rather than CBB FD. & a mainstream audience. the soppiness of this show much more suitable, if he can keep the moody side of him surpressed.
By:
Bit like Farage though, he's already one of the fairly short prices - so has to completely smash it to justify that. Possible, but long run I see voters finding another character more likeable, therefore voteable.
By:
Question of coming in late is also a consideration - I realise it has been done, but can be a question in voters minds.
By:
ITV racing and QoS FD
His other problem is that viewers watch those shows because they like sport - that won't be the case with viewers here... |
By:
i guess the big question is will people take on farage thinking its what the public want and show a negative side in doing so, pretty much what happened with matt Hancock
By:
Nigel has been my main play. Just think that the market had gone too far the other way with FD. I feel like maybe his CBB form is being taken a bit too literally by the market. Many winners of this would have flopped completely on CBB.
By:
Vice versa with Gibson, priced up in part at least on BB form (and fair assumption she will be treated very well by the producers)
By:
the latter is nailed on one would think, wonder the chimp advert will make a comeback
![]() |
By:
I do agree FD will do better than on CBB - but that's not exactly a high bar to beat! I think he'll end around 4th would be my guess.
By:
thats where i put him stu, fighting 4th with sam
final 3 of farage, josie and the one who best tackles farage will fill the other spot |
By:
im not entering market till bb is done, that puzzle is still playing out
By:
Not advocating a bet really, just noting on my hypothetical tissue he would be a few points shorter.
By:
Gibson already coming in from short enough opening price. A true Production pet who could be nearing odds-on after the 1st couple of eps..
By:
Not backing Frankie at anything under 30/1. Competition is just too strong. Josie at 5s and Sam at 8s is much better value than Frankie at even 16s, IMO.
By:
There seems to be something of a Bellew backer in the market - price is shortening?
Can't say I would really consider backing him to win this, even though his only saving grace is probably that his Region is good for support. Any backers here? |
By:
Havn't backed him yet, but I was considering it at those odds.
Extrovert, will smash trials, good banter. Might not win, but he's one of the only runners that can plunge from the current price. |
By:
For example, I would rather take a risk that Bellew falls from 24/1 to 8/1, than I Frankie 8/1 to 3/1
By:
That's a fair suggestion as a trading angle - though personally think his true odds of winning are closer to the 40s runners in this...

Ahead of Nigel Farage's stint in the I'm A Celebrity jungle, bookmakers have revealed they've slashed their odds on the GB News star being crowned King of the Jungle.
Despite ridiculous boycott calls by some disgruntled fans and a line-up that boasts other popular famous figures, Farage has emerged as one of the frontrunners - even though he was initially written off by some bookies. Lee Phelps, spokesperson for William Hill, said of the market on Tuesday before Thursday's shift: "ITV may only have announced their line up for this year’s edition of I’m A Celebrity last night, but we’ve already been forced to slash our price for Nigel Farage to win the show. "The former UKIP leader has been popular with punters since the market opened last week and has seen his odds to become King of the Jungle drop significantly from 20/1 to 11/2, putting him amongst the favourites to win the Jungle Crown. Farage has already been backed by a number of his GB News colleagues to emerge victorious Down Under. Eamonn Holmes threw his support behind Farage during an episode of Breakfast this week while Martin Daubney also suggested punters should back his GB News colleague. Even former I'm A Celeb winner Harry Redknapp has backed Farage to be crowned King of the Jungle. Speaking to GB News ahead of his stint in the jungle, Farage delved into exactly why he's decided to answer ITV bosses' calls. "The Brexit referendum was a long time ago, and a lot of younger people don’t know who I am or what I stand for," he explained. “This is a really big chance to reach a big audience of young people which will be good for me and good for GB News as well. “That’s one reason for doing it. Another reason is that for over 40 years, I’ve lived by the clock. “Whether that’s working in financial markets, working in the European Parliament, being a radio broadcaster, a speaker or presenter, I’ve lived by the numbers. “To go away from that for several weeks is a big challenge. To confront things that are obviously frightening. “To deal with them and come through them is a really good challenge.” Already thrown away chance of keeping it real by mentioning the MEGABUCKS being handed to him is 1 hell of a reason.. |
