I just suggested he gives a voice to those with racist views. You questioned it and asked for evidence that I provided, but I agree it's not hugely important when it comes to his chances.
I don't believe he has enough about him to broaden his appeal much beyond the Jack's of this world. I guess that might be enough, but I hope not. It's not as if he's a stranger to those who only watch mainstream media. He was hardly ever off it for years |

I don't personally agree that the poster is racist, but it has been done to death and I don't really want to get into debating it, futile. I was thinking more of something that wasn't already covered a lot in the mainstream and happened more recently.
I don't know why these days, people are expected to agree with someone else's views implicitly over their whole lifetime, or hate them. Labour used a despicable, bottom of the barrel attack ad of their own. Next to a photo and mock signature of the prime minister, the advert said: "Do you think adults convicted of sexually assaulting children should go to prison? Rishi Sunak doesn't." Many people at the time thought it was a racist attack on Sunak. Nobody if they are right in the head believes the allegation stated. Possibly it was racist, possibly it wasn't. But I don't believe all Labour supporters condoned the attack, racist or not. If they did not condone it, it does not mean that the should condemn the party, or cease to support them. My opinion is that Farage has been endlessly smeared by the legacy media, so perhaps the public will see more of the unvarnished individual. Remains to be seen if that is a positive or negative! I personally don't agree with everything he has ever said, or everything he has ever done. For example, I can't abide trophy hunting. But some people do support it, including Farage. Politics is always about the least worst, and for me he is in that bracket. |

To be fair, as gamblers over the years in specials, at times we've probably all gambled or even gained from racial differences in support or prejudices in voting.

A few weeks ago, can't recall exactly when, I decided to check out of consuming any political content/commentary or engaging in any political debate. And concentrate on those many things that are within my circle of control. Much better off for that decision I was, too. I suppose with the news that Nigel Farage was actually doing IAC, a minor relapse was inevitable! Best of intentions and all that.
Unless I get drunk (extremely rare nowadays!), if I engage with this show again on the forum it will only be about variables directly related to the betting and variables that will have a direct impact on the outcome. |

Deserves to win too ;-) |

Farage has clearly stated he's seeking to attract the younger viewers which would be to gain followers to his tik tok channel, i don't think he gives two hoots how far he gets or how itv portray him. He know's a portion of the audience will share his views and start to follow him, along with the 1.5 million that is all he cares about.
His council estate views will attract a good chunk which will easily see him got to 3rd or 4th, depending how he is getting on in the vote his how hard itv will have to go to shaft him in the edit. thats my 10 pence worth |
|
By:
That's probably 27p worth

no coincidence then josie and farage get the pimp opening trial then, the highest earner and itv golden girl. i see they've thrown the youtuber in for good measure with her massive sm followers too. so contrived.
pretty obvious already what the intentions of the edit are, josie being lined up for something down the line, gonna get whole house thrown at her. let alone the kitchen sink |
|
By:
Farage won't be able to do all the trials down to medical reasons, so will they devise ones he can do or will they purposely throw a couple in he can't do so it doesn't get tedious with him doing loads like we got with matt

thoroughly decent chap by all accounts
didn't know hardly any of that |

i see the layers taking him on without much concern

comparing farage vote potential here to the brexit vote is a bit far-fetched no ?
i thought the vote was more a protest vote against the establishment/government, yeah farage took credit obviously..as he would but i don't believe people all voted coz farage said so. yeah ofc he'll get the hardcore vote but the majority of brexit voters did it for there own reasons. not to follow the puppet master. thats another 10p ive spent |

He's stood for election to the HoC 7 times
he's been beaten 7 times including once by a guy dressed as a dolphin.. |

surely the market has overreacted regarding farage, the trials will be factored in not knowing he can't do them all anyway. anyone trying to trade from this standing start has got there work cut out surely, if i'd got those double figure prices off the books i'd be happy to green up now.
even if made the final v two of josie, sam or fred i think he'd be the same price. i suppose the hope is the far right sheep all pile in and drive the price down thinking there onto a 'good thing' |
|
By:
Sam is the worst value in the market, he is just not jungle winning material.
|
|
By:
Nothing like a 'vote' to get the people who want to demonstrate their views into action though, is there?
If we think he won't have an active support and voting base, I think that would be a bad mistake here. |
|
By:
That was reply to army's post above.
|
|
By:
im not convinced he has this monster voting base stu, i think there is a ton of hype surrounding this. are we certain he's going to get edited positively even if he does come out on top in arguments. more likely if risky discussions are brought up and the mask slips an inch he gets both barrels.

Don't get me wrong - I don't think he will win this series. But I do think he has enough for somewhere around a top 3.
|
|
By:
The 3 favs currently dutch to a 1.92 shot; laying the three of them`s a great starting point for trading, something to work with
|
|
By:
Sam is prime age and personality to cruise into the top 3, i'd be gobsmacked if he didn't.
i see only half this field that can win, for me these are the ones that will make the most of the airtime they get josie fred sam frankie danielle tony |

Sam has a very good head on his shoulders, not afraid of getting emotional, will give it a go, cracks jokes, etc. The only worry would be his accent, but Toff proved that's no issue

Yeah, the public will warm to him as a gent willing to put others before him. But yeah, he COULD get annoying if they show him too much
