X Factor being released a week early gives the campaign a massive advantage. The Stars Wars campaign is perhaps the bigger threat, it has 427,000 likes, but no real indication of how many of those nerds will actually buy the single. Probably a lot of them with them being nerds.

Yip that was around 11am when she hit the top of itunes. Somebody assumed Christmas number 1 was this week I think and over reacted.

Even with that in mind it was still a shocking price. She only outsold Bieber by 38% in the last hour and to put that into context that is less than 200 sales (caveat: By my quick calculations). He has two days sales start on her (which based on last weeks sales and streams is around 20,000 units!!) and streams for today which (should be) more than Louisa until she visits SPOTIFY this afternoon to pimp herself :).

All things considered this is looking to be a really lowseller. She didnt hit the top of itunes for 14 hours which is just unheard of. Unless the physical sells on Wednesday it is looking touch and go whether she will hit number one THIS WEEK let alone next week!

Someone must have fat thumbs.

Justin Bieber is shortening across the board, his single has been number 1 for two weeks now, in the last week it sold 114,000 copies to remain at the top. Based on that figure it'd take something spectacular for it to get Christmas number 1 so not sure why it is shortening, can only assume people are getting the Christmas chart date wrong.

lol someone thought Louisa Johnson was paying for Christmas and backed her at 1.08. I shouldn't laugh, she might still do it.

ive not had a bet but its easy to get it wrong

if i get up on christmas morning and play the no1 it may not be the same no 1 when i go to bed

do bookies specify which one they are paying out on ?

Applies to the UK BBC Radio One number one single for Christmas Day 2015, as announced on the last chart show before 25th December. Applies to solo singles. Others on request.

Isn't the Number One this Sunday therefore considered to be Number One for all of the week up to the next chart and therefore Christmas Day?
By:
donny osmond
When: 14 Dec 15 16:29
skybet will payout on that, according to their rules

dunno about the others as i cant find rules for most,
seems odd to get involved when rules are not there

No. Some of the books have this week`s No 1 as the winner, most have next week`s. CHECK THE RULES WITH YOUR BOOKIE!!!

There is the suspicion that some of the books simply copied last year`s rules, changing the `year`, but not noticing the possible confusion that has inevitably arisen. Sky`s `before 25th` suggests this week`s, but bf`s say

Xmas No 1 - Single - Rules
Event Start Time
25 December 2015, 00:00
Win Only Market
MARKET INFORMATION
For further information please see Rules & Regs.

Which artist will have the number one single in the UK on Christmas Day?

This market will be settled in accordance with the UK Chart declared by BBC Radio 1. This market will be suspended at the stated time

Not worded perfectly but, seeing as they won`t be having the market open for six days after we know this week`s No1, not too ambiguous.

Tim for FOTY Cool

I actually think you should carry it on this year Tim, I think you've done a grand job

Hmmm... wonder who`s been re-reading the rules, particularly the `flattery` bit? Nice to see.

Don`t know about `a grand job`, either, as I`ve never been entirely sure how a FOTY is `supposed` to behave. Being the first (DON`T add `original and best` tim, DON`T! Oops, too late!) to be so gloriously rewarded, I was so delighted that I thought I wouldn`t be able to stop myself constantly referring to it! As it turned out, though, my respect for the honour meant I felt I would be demeaning it with frequent references, so I`ve surprised myself by (I think) only using the title in the Official FOTY 2016 thread, where I felt it was right and fitting to do so.

Apart from that, my only real duties have involved defending the honour of the FOTY role. Mostly against YOU!!!

Brazen self-publicising is positively encouraged in the rules on the Official thread.
However, my earlier post;

was referring to bear`s persistence in not showing FOTY enough respect to even capitalise it....

One Direction are currently available at 150 /1 w

their final single which they sang on the x factor final  "history "surely has a great chance

they are currently number 3 on the download charts..

they have enough screaming fans to get them over the line

Biebers songs have been in the charts for weeks...already 2 weeks at number 1. i think he will run out of steam

I think one direction are probably more popular than BieberWink
