I think Bieber does it easily, I think there are plenty out there that think cockey wee barsteward every time we see Bieber in the media, that are boppingBlush along to his recent tracks.
That nhs video looks like it's been produced by some slick spiff advertising firm, it really is a load of cheesy horse sh1t

once again .... it doesnt matter what Bieber does upto friday this week

he could sell a million coplies before friday.. it still wouldnt makes him xmas no.1

its sales from Friday the 18th this week and into next week upto xmas day which count

Only certainty is Louisa isn't going to win it. Beiber is cruising there unless Stormzy (which is going toe to toe pretty much on downloads) or the Choir or Star Wars put on a very big successful campaign to get themselves to the top. Campaigns in general have an awful record but a very well orchestrated one doesn't have the hardest battle as Beiber is projected to win with the lowest number around 120,000 sales as things stand.

Lowest number of sales for a Christmas No.1 for a long time.

176,000 already signed up the the NHS campaign on FB

all it will take is for NHS staff to inform patients millions of whom are treated each week

if the BBC or ITV put this story on the evening news over the weekend, then the NHS will easily win

it literally an open goal..

Definitely a back at 8/1 or 9/1 but it's far from an open goal. You're dealing with a huge number of imponderables. Signing up to a Facebook campaign is easy, whether even 10% of them then go on to itunes which the majority probably never have to download the single is another thing. It will require a large concerted very well publicised campaign - getting 125,000 sales is incredibly difficult for what is essentially an awful song for a good cause.

Stromzy is going toe to toe with Beiber so he's going to have to put on a great campaign to double Beiber on downloads which is what's going to be required to cover Beibers stream sales. It's a fascinating market and going to be interesting to see what goes down on Friday.

NHS was available as big as 10-1 yesterday morning and  now shortening across the board

expect the price to continue to shorten over the weekend.
By:
Angela Rebecchi
When: 16 Dec 15 12:45
It's taken about £300 to do that. Every chance it's price on the weekend skyrockets out if the campaign is a damp squib.

hemsbys post and the youtube clip have me sharing your sentiment, certainly wouldn't be backing the 4.0 on here now! Star Wars and Stormzy probably more credibly opposition but as I said both facing an uphill battle as Beibers stream basically mirror his download sales so opposition is going to have to double his downloads which seems rather unlikely though not impossible.

Oh yee of little faith Wink

here are 2 stats that are food for thought

dont underestimate the size of the organisation

http://www.nhsconfed.org/resources/key-statistics-on-the-nhs

The NHS deals with over 1 million patients every 36 hours.

In 2014 the NHS employed 150,273 doctors, 377,191 qualified nursing staff, 155,960 qualified scientific, therapeutic and technical staff and 37,078 managers.

You think staff are seriously going to be asking patients to download the song after fixing their broken arm
Most of the staff don't even know they have a charity record out

Think chepster has nailed it, if you've found a bookie which declares the winner as the song announced this Friday then he's printed free money on Beiber - great shout out.
By:
Angela Rebecchi
When: 16 Dec 15 12:56
Hard to see Star Wars, Stormzy or NHS getting the circa 17,500 daily downloads to topple Beiber. Star Wars could be an interesting one.

i just think it has a great chance and its for a good cause

look... If military wives choir can be No.1 then so can this
By:

They had a monstrous slick incredible campaign. The fact hemsbys spouse who works there is unaware of the NHS choir doesn't bode well!

angela.. every bookie is going on next weeks no.1 ... not this week

the official charts themselves say that the Xmas No.1 will be announced on Dec 25h

Yeah. Either way chepster has tipped a 8/1 shot and it's odds on and is going to take some stopping, hats off to the lad - whoever layed the £1k at 1.08 on Louisa must be pretty pleased. If I have the dynamics right she can't win.

It's not impossible. Ben sold 47K cds in the shops in 4 days. I doubt louisa will do even half of that. Maybe 5K a day. You never know though

Her physical sales are likely to be dwarfed by Bieber's streaming sales alone.

bardo your posts are looking more and more like ramps by the minute. Quoting NHS (irrelevant) stats may shorten the price a little but wont do much more. Look back over this thread, both Cider and I have mentioned the NHS song and in all honesty this is my second largest winner; only X factor does me out of money, so I am not quoting figures for any reason other than to inform the forum.

To say it 'doesn't matter what Bieber does up until Friday' is complete tosh. We can only deal with the information we currently have and put simply, this is that Bieber is out streaming and outselling every other artist in the world at the minute - that is a plain and simple fact. He has done that for weeks, but does he look like slowing up? Absolutely not.

As stated earlier in this thread I would love it to be the NHS. The lack of streams worries me massively though as I am not sure it will outsell Biebs by over 2:1. Star Wars looks about the only 'contender' unless Ozzy Osbourne falls of his bike again!!

Anyway I am away after today so I will take this opportunity to wish you all the best of luck in this market. Great to see the old forum regulars still around and even names I havent seen before talking a whole lot of sense. Have a good Christmas and all the best in 2016

NHS video up to 3340 youtube views. Seems dire to me for an alleged xmas number 1 contender about 36 hrs before sales start and it looks to me to have a greater chance of crashing and burning horribly than troubling the top spot.

www.nhsno1.com for info lads. Links to multi buys and two versions of the song (both will count) so all set up for Friday. This is a marked improvement from the site a week ago. Fingers crossed for them and it should also pull 'fixyou' back up the charts

it depends what video you watch...this one here has 152,000 views

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ve1sevQpQLQ

but i do concede that there hasnt been much of a campaign so far

perhaps they have been keeping the powder dry .. who knows

those who backed the NHS at 9-1 just need it to continue to shorten and then trade out for a tidy profit

I think its in with a real shout though

Louise's projected £6m first year earnings rapidly disappearing into the distance...the £100k "advance" includes £99,999 production and marketing costs. She'd have been better off coming second...and so would I have been.
