pga european tour website have an advert to vote for rory
a quiet week on european tour as they are in south africa, but ive never seen them plug spoty before |

Who wants to lay me 25/1 on Bale to finish second... Just for a score or so?

Quite late to the party here but glad to see others thinking similar to me?
a) Hamilton should be favourite, not quite sure why he isn't b) Pavey has an incredibly inspirational story that could really resonate with viewers if presented correctly. Many will be casual viewers and wont be especially big sports fans, so with a 100% public vote it makes 50/1 an insane price. |
|
By:
Jo's casual voters more than likely watching xfactor final maybe
|
|
By:
McIlroy will be more deserving when he becomes just the 6th Golfer in history and the first Brit/Irishman/European to win the Full-House Career Grand Slam which he will do when he wins The Masters in Augusta - a fact also not lost on many sports fans - that's when Rory deserves to win SPOTY imo - Hamilton has twice been runner-up to legends Joe Calzaghe (aged 35) and Sir Chris Hoy (aged 32).
|
|
By:
50/1 is insanely short imo. Make her 500s.
|
|
By:
Having said that watching the vts it was the only 1 i was moved by
|
|
By:
Best value here looks to be 1.07 Hamilton on Market without Mcilroy

I'd say you were wrong

I'd say back her then.
People know who they are going to vote for long before this show starts. |

How can you say a vt will account for .01% of the vote? Most people will have forgotten what these have achieved over the past year. The Vt will make or break their vote imo But you're entitled to an opinion so gl ![]() |
|
By:
I was exaggerating that slightly but the majority of people will know who they're voting for already. We've had this before on here where people try to find obscure people for SPOTY and they're beaten by the household names and we'll have it again... You don't really get casual SPOTY fans. You'll have sports fans tuning in and they'll recognise and appreciate the achievements of those from the sports they know.
You also have a nationality angle that is being slightly overlooked imo. GL to you to however. ![]() McIlroy, Hamilton, Bale... in that order for me. |
|
By:
theres enough adverts and sh1te on the x factor to let paveys fans watch both
i wouldnt be surprised if there was a surprise how many times can i vote for free ? the days of multi phone votes may be gone ? |
|
By:
Once, I believe. And even that requires you to register online. Think phone votes will be the majority here still.
Literally for the whole duration than lines are open will clash with the X Factor (apart from ad breaks as you say). |
|
By:
its simple to register
i just wouldnt be bothered to pay to vote for any of them and havnt been texted or emailed by any campaigns this year could be a low turn out |
|
By:
Definitely a low turn out. 3rd place will need about 40k I reckon.

this is usually spot on and always picks the right winner ever year

I think Hamilton deserves to win cos of the risk factor. It's highly unlikely you're gonna die from playing golf is it!
BUT... Then I'm thinking that if Vettel had Hamilton's car, he would've won and Hamilton wouldn't be the world champion. McIlroy has cost me a fortune over the years so my vote is somewhat byest! Cmon Hamilton!!! ![]() |

Looks like those bbc insiders are tucking into Mcilroy.. This is game set and match for the Irish potato farmer.
