AHWNN Ok great.......I don't envisage any understanding from anyone at Betfair.

By:
Reply " this market was voided as there was an announcement of a change to the established eviction procedure due to the inclusion of the 'safe house' where those originally nominated will no longer actually be evicted but a 'double fake eviction' will take place.

I'll email them later but I think the chances of them going back to the original eviction markets, with no suspensions until the lines close, are slim.
As others had said, those Mondays were great, as we all sat watching the market waiting for any clues to who was up and refreshing DS waiting for the reverse ferret to post. There was very little or no inside money, so no reason to change a system that worked well and produced interest |

Your reply makes me wonder if it's even worth the hassle, alfie
By:
what an absolute cr@p response - ffs
tonight is not the third eviction, the third eviction will happen on another date |
By:
..and fake evictions have never happened before, have they
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I reckon as many of us as possible need to bombard BF with emails requesting they revert to opening next BB eviction markets straight after previous eviction, with all HMs quoted.
'Together we have power, apart we got pow wow' ![]() |
By:
OK jr. I will email after Bargain Hunt |
By:
tbh I think it is all pointless JR - imo the more aggro/complaints/hassle they get over these markets the less likely they are to have them.
By:
Like I posted earlier - why is there the phrase about 'change to the established eviction procedure' anyway? They keep quoting that, but why is it even in the rules?
By:
i would have thought "change to established eviction procedure" means if there is no public vote.
There is NOT an eviction tonight. |
By:
The established procedure for eviction, is there isn't an established procedure.
They've had twists and different methods of picking HM's up in every series. The one constant is the public vote. The only reason to void is if someone is evicted without a public vote. |
By:
"change to established eviction procedure" means if there is no public vote.
But they mention the 'no public vote' part separately from that part. I think they could just take the part out of the rules - but then that make it too simple of course. |
By:
take out the 'change to the established etc...'
By:
I agree stu
By:
There is no established procedure, except for the public vote
By:
Yep - they could keep in the line about leaving without a public vote, just to avoid a real mess when they boot someone without a vote.
By:
Its all a load of rubbish from BF.
"change to established eviction procedure" is a pathetic ruling. So if I'm up to my eyes in AO and another housemate is added on the wednesday. I can ask Betfair to void the market because this is obviously a "change to established eviction procedure". Of course I couldn't. I'd love to know who was taking a big hit on AO - and how quick they were to ring their account manager. |
By:
Yes FLL you know what ' I've given up too' just not worth the hassle BUT its also so flipping annoying that's there's zero understanding!!!
By:
Responder was Sabrina Beckford if that helps
By:
I guess there move was just to protect the casual punter. The more I think about it the more I think it was the correct decision.
By:
not sure there are any 'casual' punters on these markets anymore
![]() |
By:
Agreed but makes sense to err on the side of caution with these things.
By:
As stu says, all the casual punters have p1ssed off anyway. It's mostly the regulars now. The vast majority of whom were happy with the old system.
If you aren't around when noms are likely to be announced, don't leave money up in the market. Simple. |
By:
Like most things in life, just a few whingers, ruining it for the majority
By:
I think they just need to run the market and leave it open and have a caveat in the rules that big brother will often play up with evictions but the market will pay out on whoever the third evictee by public vote is and just leave it. Would get much more interest and liquidity just leavign it open whioch of course means more commission for them

"Where those originally nominated will no longer be evicted" Does that not mean all the Kenneth Tong bets should be void? What I dont get is why put any other in the market if when as soon as it becomes applicable they void the market? What odds a betfair rep comes on here to explain things when we know theyve been reading the thread? 20/1 for me |
By:
it seems odd that no exchange has a next eviction market, open all hours , and unmanaged against alteration
would surely be a big attaction |
By:
J O T this is exactly what I have been trying to explain to Betfair but they dont understand. I explained the entire point of voiding vs 'any other'
"Any Other ' would cover any different runner being evicted other than the 4 originally nominated' . As I said like hitting your head constantly against a brick wall. |
By:
Paddy P. have not voided this weeks next eviction market and will not cancel my bets. Bets will be applied to the next eviction by public vote. This is irrelevant to who is up for eviction and who the runners were at the time I made my bets. There was no price quoted for Any Other.
By:
That was their reply
By:
The fact there is a new fake eviction is completely irrelevant, people were betting on the real 3rd eviction which is still going to take place. The only thing that has changed for that is the lineup. So basically circumstances that lead to a change in the original lineup are to be deemed by betfair as "a change to the established eviction procedure" and thus void, which means those backing AO can never win, which is against the fundamental rules of betting.
By:
Exactly, it's not difficult to understand. There is no reason whatsoever to void this market.
By:
I can't believe they have voided this market, I think all the HS bookies should void because they didn't have AO.
What are betfair doing?-Think I'll ask for a refund from past bets that didn't get void. Surely the only people happy with this outcome are those that laid AO. |
By:
Indeed lookingon. I expected HS bookies to void and betfair to carry the bets forward to next eviction as they offered Any Other. Instead I find betfair have voided and Paddy P. haven't. They seem to make it up to suit themselves.

If a dozen of us all grouped up and signed a petition to get these markets open all the time come what may then they would budge.
By:
This is our version of the live feed issue on DS. Will turn out the same as well
By:
RNB - I'm more than happy to sign a petition.
BB - Korals refunded but as you say PP haven't. |
By:
Sorry RMB*
By:
Don't really think betfair are that bothered about us specials punters as it's small change compared to most markets and the liquidity each year get's worse and worse.
Bet PP took some big bets on Wolfy for next eviction and are hoping she's not up, they all make their own rules up to suit their pockets. Betfair have no excuse as they had already added AO. |
