PP are off my list of HS bookies. To not void that market after offering prices for 4 runners and not for Any Other, is the wrong thing to do.
By:
Have you complained? I don't see how they can stand by that decision. They (as all bookies do nowadays) only price up the market when the people up for eviction are known. I've done a shop bet on Dan myself with them.

I had a few quid on Dan with them, does seem strange for them not to void tbh would complain but mey female impersonation got rumbled with them last time

So I'm not the only one red on Dan for next eviction. I did contact them via their online chat...
Ina Hi, my name is Ina. How may I help you? You Hi Ina, I was waiting for clarification re Novelty: Big Brother, Next Eviction bets. You I had not heard anything yet, You The eviction is not taking place You There is no public vote You Will you cancel the bets? Ina Hi, If you placed a bet on this market last week, your bet will stand accordingly, please note the market is "next eviction" it does not specify a time frame You Even if a house mate is evicted, who was not quoted at the time I made my bets? Ina Yes that is correct You but I made my bets on a market with 4 runners. You Are you saying this bet will be settled on a different market? Ina This is not a different market, the market remains the same, it is "next eviction", we don't always offer prices on all available selections. You You are the only bookmakers who have not voided this market You Even Betfair exchange, who had Any Other as an option have voided this market Ina I can not comment on any other bookmaker, I can confirm however that this bet will have to stand in accordance with our rules, I apologise for any inconvenience caused You The event of market on which I bet has been cancelled You You need to cancel my bets Ina The event has not been cancelled, your bet was on "next eviction" there is no time frame on that market You Unless the next eviction has the same 4 runners, it is a different event Ina It is not a different event, again we can't also offer prices on all contestants. Just because more prices are available now does not mean the market has changed. The bet will have to stand I'm afraid You Ok, I understand you have to make rules to protect yourselves... You but you are using them to apply my bet to a field that I didn;t bet on Ina I apologise that you feel this way, but the rule would work both ways, if the eviction did not take place and it was more likely to take place this week thus prices getting shorter, then you would argue that bet would have to stand You It may be the case that my bets are for someone that will be in the field at lower odds. However, I am saying, cancel this before we know. So it is fair for us both. Ina The bet can not be cancelled, I apologise You Thank you Ina You Bye for now. |
By:
No, sorry. We are green on Dan, red on Any Other.
By:
Ladcrooks have cancelled, Spoils haven't
By:
BB - That's just not on. It's like doing an antepost bet in a horse race of 4 and then adding several more horses after you've placed your bets.
By:
Yes exactly. They are doing the wrong thing. I am considering applying to IBAS for an adjudication but I doubt that will result in anything positive.
By:
If PP don't change their position, I WILL be applying to IBAS. If nothing else, it will cause them a bit of work.
By:
The thing is, if Dan is not voted safe, and is nominated. I will bet assuming that I am green on him. What if IBAS then decide the bet is to be cancelled?
By:
If Dan is not up for eviction next week, then he was NEVER a runner for next/3rd eviction. With the bookies only pricing up the market on known runners, surely the old "if a bet can't win, it can't lose" comes into play?
By:
bf used to list all the runners/hms didn't they and that is the problem. As they only listed the ones up. So in theory they have potentially misled their customers.
By:
IBAS won't work that quickly anyway, I very much doubt. It's all a mess :-(
By:
Is the old "if a bet can't win, it can't lose" a fact? I mostly only bet BB. I'm just a novice in these matters, but conmen sense says PP, and any bookie not voiding this market, are wrong.
By:
That rule no longer exists.
By:
Well, thanks all for the advise. I'd say that if a house mate you have a bet on, is not nominated for the next eviction, and any other was not an option when you bet, you were misled into making a bet that can not win. Logic says that your bet should be cancelled. Check with IBAS and see what they decide.

reading all the cr@p these lowlife welshers put you through makes me almost relieved I can't get on and don't have to deal with all this hassle anymore.
By:
Paddies are usually good. I'm amazed they haven't voided given they didn't have an any other option.
By:
You are better off dealing with them via email rather than with some numpty on live chat. Write them a detailed email explaining all the points and ask for a final decision from the customer services manager before referring the matter to IBAS.
By:
I suppose they could say they'd give a customer a price on any other runner should they be asked, like with AP horse racing.
Stretching it a bit, I know. |
By:
The trads are probably waiting to see what happens next before making a decision.
BF just needs to list all current hms, AO and make it next eviction by pv caveat emptor. They made a rod for their own back but personally I feel voiding was the correct decision. I didn't have involvement in the market. |
By:
Paddies usually are good, and had some affiliation with BB on Channel 4.
I will do that Jack, ty. |
By:
True squares.
I do think it is Paddies policy to carry over eviction bets if that weeks one is cancelled. It might be in their rules. I remember I backed Shabnam with them to go, when she was up against Emily. Emily was backed into favourite and then thrown out, as we all remember. The following week Shabnam was up again and well odds on to go. So I was happy that they carried it over ![]() |

does look as if that is the case altho the rules need updating as they still cite C4
Big Brother rules 1. Should a contestant be evicted from the house, removed by Big Brother or leave of their own accord, they will be settled as a loser. Should that same contestant be re-admitted at a later date, they will be treated as a new contestant and previous bets will not stand. 2. Eviction markets apply only to official Channel Four evictions. Any contestant leaving the house of their own accord or removed by Big Brother will not be treated as the next evictee for betting purposes. Paddy Power reserves the right to void all bets placed on an eviction market should the initial line up for eviction be changed. Others may be added to the market at any time. 3. Paddy Power is not responsible for the way in which Channel Four conduct the show. Any late changes to methods of eviction, addition or subtraction of housemates or any other factors affecting the market are beyond our control. 4. Any disputes concerning any market will be referred to Channel Four for clarification; their decision will be treated as final. 5. Paddy Power reserves the right to suspend any market at any time. 6. For the purposes of our markets, we will define an eviction as the permanent expulsion from the house of contestant or contestants. Therefore, fake evictions will not be considered as winners. Therefore any bets placed on a stipulated eviction (e.g. first) will run until a person is seen to egress the house with no immediate prospect of return. 7. Paddy Power reserves the right to apply a dead heat reduction on any event where more winners are declared than were originally specified. 8. In the event of the series been cancelled before an official winner is declared, bets will be settled as a dead heat between the contestants that have not been eliminated. Outright bets on contestants already eliminated will be treated as losing selections. |

By:
Yes, they are operating within their rules. I still believe it is an incorrect decision even though my bet, Dan, could still win.
Ironically, if betfair hadn't voided I would have been all green, even on Any Other. If korals also didn't void I would still only be red on Gina. |

Surely the bolded type means they should void the market? |
By:
they've worded it so they can do wtf they want
By:
they can void the market if they want, but if they don't want to they can just add other contestants to the market.
Point 6 reads that they wouldn't void and bets on an eviction run until someone is evicted. |
By:
They're the only ones who never voided the Alex ferguson for Spoty bets as well
Vile firm |
By:
To me if you bet before the noms all is fare run or not, but once you bet after noms you are betting on particular line up where anyother should cover the possibility that another runner is added as a punishment by BB or otherwise.
With the hs books the original line up offered has been scraped and the third eviction will have a different line up, so the third eviction will be a different line up on a different date, imo the bets should be voided, bf probably played it right since the market was put after false noms, ie noms not for eviction. |

I vented here yesterday, but I am now accepting that their rules allow them to do what suits them. We should be aware of that. If it deters the knowledgeable punter it does not bother them. They prefer to only take bets from mugs.
