I had a little play on Wolfy to go out so closed out for a loss after the twist. It being voided is good news for me but in the interest of fair play I'd happily sign a petition to reinstate it as this is yet another dagger in the heart of these markets. I backed Wolfy in knowledge of a twist, the whole point of Any Other is that if these things happen it's covered. Feel for those who layed Wolfy as I technically had a free bet on her, if she was up she was gone, if she was saved by hook or by crook then it was voided. Now even less will play these markets. Wrong decision very much so.

Pointless having markets with everything covered (AO) and then voiding.
Its a gameshow with twists, if we are interested enough to bet on it then we know this. I wouldn't bother nicking some (absolutely no risk) free money on AO in future though. Voided as only pennies were matched? |
By:
Regardless of how bf tries to spin it, surely a more important rule is that a bet has to be able to win. If they are going to void in this sort of situation then anyone betting on AO can never win. Worth taking to IBAS?
By:
£9,765 was matched on the market.
By:
AO generally means one or two being added. So not really true that AO could never win

I am sure it would be much more if betfair stopped fiddling and went back to the old system of putting up the eviction market on the Friday with all HM's listed and leave it running until the following Friday.
By:
Yep. And clarify the rules
By:
Shirl might want to suggest this
By:
jr, myself and few others have suggested it to mr twitter guy
By:
or it could be mrs twitter woman, or miss
By:
what a feckin joke
![]() absolutely no point in phoning Betfair either because you will just get some muppet repeating himself other and other till you get bored and call him a ****. |
By:
BF total. So half of that?
Still quite low compared to years ago then people lost faith (similar to this I think). Might match £300 on the the next one if theyre lucky. |
By:
tbf the twitter people are very helpful.
Well they respond very quickly anyway |
By:
Someone on DS thinks they should evict the 2 at the same time as they've done it before. The examples given...
BB7- Michael and Spiral CBB5- Jo and Cleo, Jack and Danielle BB8- Shanessa and David, Kara Louise and Tracey, Carol and Jonty BBCH- Liam and Victor, Jay and Calista, Nathan and Jeremy, Anthony and Amy. Yeah, Dan will be thinking of those examples when he's trying to figure why they would evict 2 characters like Gina and Dexter at the same time |
By:
Twitter betfair help desk is well prompt but let's be honest the relevant people at betfair do not understand this market, in all honesty prob can't be bothered with the hassle of eviction markets for the little commission they earn.
By:
You may be right there alfie, but surely isn't that the point of putting in the caveats that the market might simply roll over to the following week - no so difficult for them to run, if they just left it alone?
By:
Totally the wrong decision. Someone with a lot of clout must have laid the big prices on Any Other.
By:
Would be the simple/easy solution Stu. no confidence in these markets, still think people are manipulating or influencing any decision to void and more so after today.
By:
Nobody with a lot of clout could afford the time to spend on this piddling little market Jack. BF are just lazy.
Whoever emails point them to this thread too. |
By:
It wouldn't surprise me if it was Betfair themselves. I strongly suspect they have bots seeding some of the markets on here with poor liquidity.
By:
Absolutely no way BF seed these markets.
By:
I have my doubts whether they seed Specials markets, but I strongly suspect they seed others.
By:
No chance whatsoever, wouldn't even take 1000.
Stupid decision made too hastily under influence from a penny pinching tiddler probably. |
By:
Partly the result of extensive cost cutting no doubt, the hasty decision and the inexperience in understanding the market that is.
By:
Ambiguous rullings, shouldn't be operating these markets now IMO and as for 'any other' option
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

By:
Not the first time BF fail to actually implement rules properly on specials in particular. I have bad experience of that first hand.
![]() |
By:
Not seeded, but there is defo a bot, BF cross matching or otherwise.
Stick a lay offer up and bets would appear everywhere at stupid prices. |
By:
I just thought I spotted a bot on the spoty market as it happens
By:
Had about £40 equity in the market (though the cash out facility was offering me a £3.62 loss
) Therein lies the problem they are that busy fiddling with this and that they dont have anyone who understands these markets. I say anyone, the guy who set the market up probably has some understanding. Then someohe with a badge of authority says void it. The worst thing is I along with many others cant be arrissed to complain because unfortunately "INCOMPETENCE COMES AS STANDARD" Nobody needs to tell them how crap they are they know it ![]() |
By:
Just another thought on this - that phrase in the rules about if there is 'any change in the eviction procedure'...where did that come from, and what is the reason for it?
If they just took that out, left the market alone...easy market to run? |
By:
Been there for years and it clearly means nowt!
![]() |
By:
Exactly, I'm sure it's just some hangup for when they started these markets...still not sure why it was added in though??
By:
It's in their interest to include anything that gives them discretion to do what they want.
By:
Is it though? Lost commission on voided markets?
By:
If anyone is interested please email info@betfair.com Attn Kyle Mckerlon. I'm not eloquent enough to explain precisely the problem with the 3rd eviction being voided. He is aware of this thread.
By:
Should just put the lot up every Friday as fll and others have said and have a next eviction market that just runs over if there are any shenanigans.
By:
I'm in favour of this- used to get the value that way.

alfie46 - I emailed Betfair yesterday morning complaining about them voiding the market and it not being the right decision and the opposite to what they have done in the past. 24 hours later I've yet to receive a reply.
When they do eventually reply, quoting the line that says they can void at their discretion, I'll try and email them a better argument. As CLYDEBANK29 has said, it's simply not having experienced staff nowadays resulting in someone not understanding the situation, what's happed before and their own rules, who hastily made a decision to void the market. Another example of this was the farce of them adding Fergie to the SPOTY market, then removing him, when they had already done this exact thing 2 or 3 years beforehand. |
By:
When I emailed Betfair about a Blue Square query (after phoning but being asked to email), I received their reply 9 days later.
Is this really how they want their customer service to go with their cost cutting exercise? |
