Tomorrow afternoon
By:

The easiest way to spot the winner early, is to have all of the votes for each country listed - as you'd expect them to vote anyway, and if a country is given 5+ pts by them when they would not normally vote for them, then jump on them fast. But you have to know the voting order of course, no point jumping on, say, Italy, if Hungary are voting first, because obviously without the Balkans, Italy are going to improve their voting ranking for Hungary.
By:
whereas, if say, Greece are voting first and they give 10 pts to Iceland, you know that Iceland are in with a good chance of winning.
By:
You'd have the same winner every year if people countries voted the same every year
By:
well sweden was half way through the voting order with russia a few juries after them last year, unlike the previous couple of years where the actual winner voted within the first 10 of the voting juries
By:
Its not easy to pick the winner from voting stats, but you can pick the countries that will be in with a shout.
By:
Last year they said they would adjust the voting order to make it more exciting, yet everyone knew Sweden were going to win early on - maybe because they won so easily, but if it is closer this year, and they do it the same way, then that is going to cause a problem.
By:
if you go by stats then someone performing 16-26 will be the winner going on the start placings of the previous 5 years
By:
I am going to use the voting stats not for the winner, but for the top 4, 10 etc.
By:
There should be some nice odds in there to get value on.
By:
More top 10's have come from the 1st half than the 2nd in the last 4 years
By:
i think they should not reveal the vote running order of the countries but just call on the juries one at a time as they already know the winner and results before they even call the first jury. By looking at the vote results they can then go to a jury that will result in a neck and neck race to make it more exciting.
By:
The winner could be a number of countries obviously - you just can't tell - Denmark obviously if everyone takes to it, Norway have a chance, Russia, Georgia, even Hungary, Malta or Lithuania - they all have good songs. The winning song frequently transcends the stats. But the countries vying with them for the winning position usually fit the stats.
By:
Yeah thats what they did last year Corbyguy, except it was made impossible because Sweden got so many votes.
By:
Lithuania last. They are having a giraffe
By:
I think it will be a closer vote this year for sure.
By:
Other than the Netherlands, who my stats cannot devise a position for, I have France at the bottom of the voting.
By:
France, Malta, Spain, Estonia and Finland bottom 5.
By:
no, France, Malta, Spain, Estonia and Ireland.
By:
Belarus maybe a touch of value for last place
By:
Does anyone else calculate it like this or is it just me?

By:
Too many ex USSR countries for them to come last I think.
By:
We all do, I think, to some degree. But the song is far more important. Germany had no chance on voting stats
By:
for the winner, maybe.
By:
Just you Srich as far as I can tell - other people place at least some emphasis on the quality of the songs.
By:
Stats definitely helpful for top 10's and qualifying, but Serbia had loads of friends the pimp slot and still didn't go through
By:
what about France the other year then? Favourites to win, well thought of song, didnt come anywhere near the top.
By:
I am jesting, it's obviously important - but the importance you seem to place on it above other things makes me question the value.
By:
Would be nice if Moldova voted first. An easy trade!
By:
He was dreadful on the night and Popera doesn't seem to work at Eurovision
By:
France was a divisive song with niche appeal that did not translate as many thought it would. France have done better with more traditional ESC fodder - Natasha St Pier, Jessy Matador etc.
By:
its the same with Denmark, not exactly everyone's cup of tea.
By:
It is nowhere near as divisive, and it has sounds similar to other ESC winners so I would disagree strongly.
By:
I don't think anyone hates it. It's just rather formulaic
By:
Unless Denmark storms to victory I will rule it out.
By:
and I dont think the song is good enough to storm to victory.
