Top 10 value im thinking of - winner is too far fetched for me
By:
Yes. Top 10 more realistic. I'm happy with the cash @ 780 though

750 even. £6

Despite the crazy prices im backing Denmark as I cant have a repeat of last year ie Sweden getting a reasonable draw then being obvious from first result it would win. There was little to no trading opportunities to be had from this point on. I have everything else i like in big greens
I'll make it break even and hope its a hell of a lot closer than last year ![]() ![]() |

Georgia apparently going pyromania effects for the waterfall - price collapsing - well coming in
![]() |
By:
I fear I might have to do the same.
I'm happy to have Ukraine & Norway red, but less comfortable with my red on demark |

Georgia gets the golden shower

Sofabet Georgia: Geo1stR: staging as expected from concept video; strong vocals; great effects for final run-through incl curtain of fire; v good rehearsal
By:
I guess the one worry is it's too much like Azer
By:
Going back to my earlier point Denmark/Norway/Sweden all have their fans similarly Russia/Georgia/Ukraine
Its a bit of a concern for me just thinking about the lessons I learned last year. To be honest I really like mother Russia's chances against Georgia and Ukraine although i can see its a bit old fashioned |
By:
I wasn't too impressed with the staging of Russia and as you say it's rather old fashioned but in such a weak year it's a very solid entry from a country who get a shed load of points just for turning up
By:
You don't rate Norway's chances Figgy? I though it was up there with a good chance of victory, depending on draw.

I really like the song now but it took me 5 or 6 listens. Most people will be listening to it for the 1st time.
Also I've always thought it would be a difficult song to reproduce live without the aids that they were allowed to use in their national final. The clips we've seen confirms that for me. Her vocal is incredibly strained at times. ofc we don't have much to go on and some good judges were pleased with it today |
By:
IIRC I liked it on first listen but it didn't leap out at me.
By:
Just noticed the azerbaijan price - I layed too soon at 36 - seems an over reaction to me to what I saw in the rehearsal. And im the only guy on the forum who put it in their top 3 predictions!!
By:
Nothing has leapt out at me this year on 1st listen apart from Lithuania
& the Netherlands. |
By:
ok sorted my book out now - Denmark break even and Ukraine and san marino the big reds remaining of the first 10 or 11 in the betting
By:
Romania sounds like it could be quite something. I'm not sure in a good or a bad way, but with pimp and loads of friends it must be a decent bet to qualify
By:
Russia Georgia Italy Netherlands the big greens
By:
Same 4 here Bex ...and Croatia
![]() |
By:
Its the draw and the marmite element that makes me agree re Romania - allies wise its been unlucky with the draw. Won't be having a bet though on this one
By:
Yes, not as good as I thought in terms of allies, but the marmite element and the draw make it bet for me.
Someone keen to lay tho |
By:
Do we have that press poll this year?
By:
re Croatia - Victor put up 25/1 and sb 16/1 a couple of days ago for top Balkan which would have tempted me if not closed down. 12/1 best now but also no good as its jamstains. Its a shame theres no group markets here
By:
Just read Daniels tweet on Romania rehersals, staging described as a car crash :-(
Not what I wanted to hear, still feel it is different enough to qualify from the pimp slot in a semi full of bland/similar ballad type numbers Nugg |

Cesar closes day 4 with a performance of bizarre showmanship that needs to be seen to be believed. An instant ESC classic :) |

Thanks five leaves,
I am rather hoping that Cezar can end what will be a rather dull show with the viewers feeling wow, wtf, that was so different. The song certainly has the surprise element to it when heard for the first time. If the staging can be different and unusual too then I guess that will only help. Not a banker but for me value at odds against for qualification. I actually think the juries will like it too, they must be sick to death of hearing bog standard formula ballads designed with ESC in mind Nugg |

Cesar 1st rehersal....what a mess...pity cos it distracts from song...and we all know red and black colourscheme doesn't bring votes |

I wonder what sort of price the Israeli transvestite was just prior to the 1998 ESC. He/she was very very different to anything that had come before it and Israel had not won it outright for many years before that particular year. I am possibly suggesting that the different songs this year could drop appreciably in price just like Lordi did as well in 2006. I just have a gut feeling that the Cezar could possibly be that different ditty that can possibly light up the entire finals night should it manage to qualify. As mentioned earlier it will surely be impossible to forget compared to anything else before him with him being last on stage. And we know the fine record of the last one or two over the last few years. Cezar is my ew hope.- Behind Holland and Rush Her. Good luck all I am getting more and more nervous.

Just caught up the last 303 posts (took a while!) and not one single comment re. Switzerland!!
Is it really that bland to not warrant a comment? Still like although I know it won't win. Surely though it's got a good chance of qualifying. Good upbeat tune and different from most of the others - I'm surprised it's quite so high in the odds when for my money it's a high double figures odds |
By:
Switzerland? really, are they competing
![]() Its possible they can qualify with the draw and a semi where the diasporo bias isn't pronounced like SF1. IIRC honestcl you usually like the up tempo numbers and went for a lot of the same songs as me last year like Norway and Ukraine. My warning would be - look how well that turned out ![]() ![]() It wont be on my list of qualifiers but wouldnt be the greatest shock if it did. If it makes the final it will definitely be 20-25th |
