Apart from Malta & Norway I struggle to get excited by any song in this semi and there's a decent chance that Norway could be a bit of let down live

thanks for the updates guys, the 9-5 severely hampering following rehearsals this week. is norway up next?
By:
yes, after the lunch break DM

Here she comes

esctips say it is fine
escxtra rather less impressed - Well that was a very disappointing run-through from Norway. Miles out of tune in parts, and strained in other places. She is wearing a white dress, similar if not the same as the national final. Staging is pretty identical as well, just with the addition of three backing singers. |

NORWAY
The most important thing we were waiting to hear in this rehearsal was how the Norwegians would cope with replicating the multi-layered vocal track from the studio version in the live setting. Thankfully, the answer to that is 'very well'. Margaret is joined on stage by three backing vocalists, but other than that the staging is much the same as in the Norwegian final, with a single drummer off to one side and Margaret alone up front. Margaret is wearing a very similar white dress to the one in the Norwegian final, and the background is suitably dark and electronic-looking. There are a lot of shots from the back of the stage, which look a bit odd now, but will be very effective with an arena full of fans. Overall, I'd say it's coming across very well, and the Norwegians have got everything right with the staging. Still a potential winner? |

meanwhile the guys on escxtra still don't like it
By:
The jury definitely out. It was always going to be difficult to reproduce this live without the trickery allowed at the national final
Very unimpressed with Norway. Margaret it not hitting the high notes and the whole act comes across as much less impressive than it did in MGP. As one of my personal favourites, I hope they get the act together, and soon, because as it looks right now this is definitely not a winner. |

Daniel in line with esctips
Nor1stR: staging like national final; vocals strong; very good rehearsal; Berger fans should be happy with that. |

jr liked it too

What's the interchange as they sounded alright on stage then in the dressing room felt like my ears wanted to explode at times.
By:
Same here RMB
I wouldn't be backing on the A cappella version |

Hoping Denmark get a bad draw as see them winning well with a late one. Need Italy/Germany to win really, don't even like either song myself though, feels abnormal to have them 'on my team' (sorry!).
By:
well what I like about Norway is the electro feel and the beat/bass - that seems to come across very well to me on that clip. Its gradually becoming less of a favourite with me but I'm guessing thats because its the only song I have bothered listening to a lot
By:
I still feel it can stand out from the rest in a good way, preferably of course with a good draw.
By:
It needs the heavy bass. Without it her voice makes my ears bleed
By:
Yeah. Fan of the electro feel and beat/bass too. The a cappella version is painful to say the least but will probably be drowned out on the night by the beat anyway.
By:
You can certainly see where escxtra nation were coming from.
By:
Sure can. Nothing comes close to Denmark for me, if I can get odds against with a big draw I'll probably go in big and fail spectacularly

It's certainly by far the best rehearsal of the front 3, from the clips we've seen
By:
She comes across as a little gem as well, not that I know what she's saying in 3/4 of them, but she seems very personable and likeable.
By:
When she smiles, yes. She looks a bit of psycho to me during the song.
By:
She's got a great lispy sound to her voice, I like it anyway.

escXtra This second rehearsal from Margaret is an improvement on her first, but there are still a few suspect notes here and ere. She is smiling a little more this time and comes across as more appealing, but there are moments when her ‘sassiness’ is actually a little scary! The new version of her dress is a definite improvement. The backing track seems a little domineering.
By:
Backing track being domineering is just how I want it lol

Good reports about Georgia.
By:
Geogia going down well thankfully
escXtra Georgia on stage now. Sophie is wearing a long white and light blue dress with some silver sparkles on the shoulders and Nodi’s in a suit. They’re joined on stage with three female backing singers and the backdrop is, believe it or not, a waterfall. It’s very good vocally, especially Sophie who’s hitting every note effortlessly. A brilliant first rehearsal to be honest, one of the best so far. |
By:
I'd rather be on Georgia or Russia at the prices than any of the front 3

and we both already have Italy and Netherlands - we seem to be in some agreement this year leaves. Sadly for you lol

Am I crazy in thinking that Croatia could spring a real surprise? I'm not a fan of this Il Divo type stuff, but they shift shed loads of cd's and it's the only song of any quality from the Balkans.
I know the sweaty French guy failed miserably but I tend to agree with Daniel from sofabet that this comes across as a lot more authentic. |

last year it was clear that finding the best in the region was vital - Loreen wiped everything admittedly but Iceland and Norway suffered extremely badly in its wake. Loreen also wiped the floor with the up tempo rivals as well leaving novelty (grannies) and Balladeers to chase it home. The lack of many if any decent Balkan songs and the fact its unique this year means its one of the outsiders its realistic to make a case for.

I was lucky last year that a few HS firms still let me have some reasonable bets. I managed a decent amount @ 9/2 on Sweden having been a layer on here.
I'd have been in a great position again this year if I'd been allowed more than a few pound on Denmark @ 20's and in the teens |
