Albania.

A work of genius and my biggest winner in the top 10 market. I think I got 9.

That is simple neighbourly voting, GB2. Like Greece & Cyprus always exchanging 12pts, & the UK regularly giving Ireland maximum pts. Albania has plenty of televoting friends, it was a very distinctive, classy song, & Rona had an impressive & memorable vocal.

& the Spanish song was a gem & deserved more 12s Grin

memorable vocalist but not impressive imo; can understand the public voting for neighbours but surely the juries are meant to be above that? Put 5 luvvies in a room together and anything can happen...Albania probably got the Judy Garland vote.

Albania's song was clearly considered high quality by jurors across Europe. Juries consist of 5 members. 'The jury should consist of a variety of members in terms of age, gender and background'.

Albania was quality. Much like the recent winners. Lena a quality pop song, sung by an engaging performer (even tho many hated it). Euphoria an all round quality performance and song. Rybak a top quality Eurovision type song. Azer one of the best songs for me, wery well staged and plenty of friends.
Netherlands one of the few quality songs this year. Whether everyone on here likes it not Silly
It doesn't make it the winner, but puts it on the shortlist.

Very little quality with Denmark and certainly very little value. Except for laying it in all markets and hoping the public and juries agree. I'm confident the juries will.

ESC Rules extract : "Each National Jury shall vote in accordance with the instructions included in the so called "Green Document"... "

wtf's the "Green Document" ?, and why is it "so-called" ? Either it is or it isn't "the Green Document" ffs

Who the feck took 1k+ Denmark at 1.01? Shocked Another example of why it is worth leaving the 1.01s up?

I don't think the Germans will be getting any points from Cyprus

Someone meaning to lay and pressed the wrong button? Wonder when it happened and how? Wouldn't they just have go the best available odds? Maybe they did but we didn't notice?

No love for Germany from the Greeks/Cypriots...they pay their taxes....scabs.

Latest live version of Ukraine.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MeLdpUqZD24

Given she is a sexy cross between Cheryl Cole and Eva Longoria plus my biggest green means I'm talking through both my book and my c0ck; a truly dangerous combination.  That said I like this. Fabulous singer and she has at least 2 audience cheering moments in it which can't hurt. Its weakness is it still feels a bit meandering but at 19s still looks value to me.

...I also like the fact that this and her other youtube versions have 2 different age range of female viewers in the top 3 of hits.

Actually 60 secs of a good song and then 2 mins of what do we do now.

No different to most really then I guess; Denmark just seems repeat after repeat with a small upbeat bit ditto Holland. I do agree it could be better structured and I suspect it will keep getting polished up to the final but she seems to me to be a very good and personable performer who women will aspire to but not resent.

As a counter view, I think this is a very weak Ukraine song. It also faces tough opposition in the east with stronger ballads (imho) from Russia, Georgia, & Azerbaijan for that matter, not to mention Belarus's decent ethno pop tune. Zlata is a very good vocalist but this doesn't make up for a song that rapidly loses its way, lacks a clear structure &, on a personal level, is not only instantly forgettable but nauseatingly Disney… like something out of Lion King. It makes the Russian & Georgian tunes seem palatable.

The video was Disney but the live wasn't. I don't know if they also changed the music but it seems like a different song, the video has a huge effect.

Some differences from version 2/the video; fake ending works ok and higher note to end on. I like the little Greek type dance moves as well likely to appeal to a few countries.  If it wins its doing it by numbers. I agree that the live version ain't Disney but even if it was only the ESC afficionados will take offence.  95% of the viewers will probably hear it for the first time on the night so a bit of instant recognition might not go amiss.

The plot thickens in 2011. The men had a 20% drop in actual votes from the pv to the juries while the women had an average 35% increase. Especially astonishing given one of the 7 men was Italy which had a 99 v 251 pv to jury INCREASE.

Slovenia had a remarkable 39 v 160 increase which suggests the juries were voting with their d1cks...something I have always resolutely refused to do when it comes to betting Wink

Your accidental taking of such a price. It has to be an error, the price is clearly wrong, wrong, wrong. We bookies use this rule every day to cover up our mistakes. Works every time!

You can virtually guarantee UK will be well backed in the lead up to the final due to patriotic cash.

The more I listen to the songs the more I think Russia are a huge runner this year. Will appeal to jury and public alike
