Cyprus was one that scored relatively highly with me.It was matched @ 1000 for some reason. Now someone is trying to back @ 80

I just heard San Marino and I am loving it. Prefer this to Ukraine. It sounded to me that the person singing it could have been Shirley Basset and her kind of song. Price at 55 to back. I think i will have a couple of pounds on it.

Sounds great until it goes off the rails towards the end

Not getting heavily involved with this after taking a beating last year
Had a listen through all the songs, Azerbaijan and Greece look the stand out odds to me. Taking a punt EW on those and that will do me I think. Good luck all! |

Gone green on Holland to be sure to be sure. Still think Ukraine represents the value and I suspect after the rehearsals we will be seeing sub 12s.

What are the UK playing at? Can someone explain this to me. The UK fund this and yet send the Hump and Bonnie facking Tyler.....wtf are they playing at?
By:
Shes on the One Show tonight to explain all..

The BBC would rather pay £22m for a lame duck of a music talent show in The Voice, Clay, rather than seriously invest in a high quality national qualifier(s) to find our ESC entrant.

Someone with finger trouble I think George. I've laid some but only at 13.5. Still plenty available at 16/1

Ta Dicky. 4300 green so keeping an eagle eye on it......
By:
Have been slowly accumulating, currently about 1200 green. Ghastly song mind, although I concede it does have a positive feel about it and is well performed, making it jury friendly I guess.
By:
More viewer friendly than jury maybe but I am looking to trade as I see her a sure fire top 5 so 25/1 has to be value..I hope.

If there's any way Montenegro can get the ahem 'imagery' from their music video onto the stage show, then they'll be hogging the male vote on the night!
By:
Just had a proper listen to Azer and it's pretty decent.
Hardly backed anything so far this year (been concentrating on lays) but that's worth a small punt. No way it's not going lower than 30s in the next 8 weeks - price too high |
By:
Denmark is like a Irish folk song with a dance beat in it - how the fack is this fav? Jury will hate it imho. Massive red for me
By:
Denmark a lay for top 10 for me.
As for Ukraine. I rate it chances but laid plenty of green on yesterdays plunge. |
By:
Really open year seems to me. On hols and so messed around on youtube; not maybe the best source as so many views are by males who I suspect aren't the voting demographic. Going by people's stated top 10s I have the book something like:
Denmark 7.5 Germany 8.1 Norway 8.5 Sweden 14.8 UK 15.4 Ukraine 17.7 Israel 18.4 Austria 21 Holland 27 |
By:
Interesting that Austria's in there for you GB. Not a song I particularly like but it's not bad - perfectly listenable...but the three figure odds certainly surprise me.
By:
Not my choices honest just took the last 20 or so fav top 10 videos on youtube and scored them up as per ESC. Probably no better or worse than the polls. Also tried to do some research on jury/pv split but hard to assess. Generally the juries seem to like the single female performers who emote and can belt one out so there are a few this year that fit that bill.
By:
...truth is you can pick holes in any of them this year...Denmark we have heard lots of times before in ESC and it hasn't won iirc...Germany is lacking a tune...Norway is repetitive and ultimately dull...Sweden is a lite version of other songs and the juries won't like him...Israel will get jury but not pv...Holland probably ditto..still like Ukraine with a good vocal, half decent mock uplifting lyrics and a pretty fair melody; it might get punished for being too Disney but at the odds still the value bet for me.

Can somebody explain to me why Netherlands are not 180-1 at this point in time?
By:
Because it's the best song in a song contest
By:
So why is it not 1/100 then?
By:
Anyway, looks like a good value lay to me at 1.4 to make the top 10. Netherlands have an awful track record at the esc, and this song is very weak, which wouldnt help matters.

You use the word "best" as though its an empirical fact fll...Lou will be having an apoplectic fit when he finally finds a caff with wifi on his Romanian World Tour. As someone who doesn't find Lana del Ray remotely fascinating I will respectfully disagree. That said having listened to Armenia again from last year who knows how it will pan out. I have this image of you bopping along to Leonard Cohen on a Saturday night......
By:
The Dutch song is awful, truly awful. I'm massive red on this, massive, massive red. Has no chance imho. They may be sending popular singer this time around but forget that for a second, listen to the song and the only conclusion you can come to is that the song is woeful.
Denmark and Norway miles better than the Dutch song |
By:
Late comer here. I actually like Danish song, just not so sure about the odds.
The biggest surprise to me is that Tony Iommi wrote that hideous Armenian song! |

Damn quotes.
I said I bop to Leonard Cohen every night ![]() Ofc the best song to a very latge degree is subjective. But it's not Albania. Or Armenia from last year, who didn't take part. Not sure what you have been listening to ![]() |

By:
The shreeky woman who came from somewhere beginning with an A...how the feck she appealed to both the public and the juries I do not know. Maybe the A was Angst?
By:
And as for me trying to second guess the juries I see Portugal gave 12 to Spain last year
