Ella will forever be in specials folklore for dividing opinion
![]() To be fair there are strong arguments on both sides of the coin. Those who thought they saw a star in the auditions I think will always be positive about her. I was amazed to see so many of the specials luminaries had got on AP, as I didn't view her audition in the same way. |

The 2 that stood out for me pre lives were Ella and James. Unfortunately I thought James couldn't win, so never took the 20/1

Ella 4-1 to have a #1 single in 2013 fwiw. James 2-1
|
|
By:
james fastest selling single in 2012 so 2/1 worth a punt I'd have thought....where is that at?
|
|
By:
2/1 not a bad bet.
A poor winner in XF terms, but a decent winner when it comes to producing music that has a chance of selling |

...on the HS as I worked out and posted on here that it was obvious that he had made the lives...his answers to tweets...taking his FB down I think etc etc. Unfortunately went off him when the action started.

Strange rule on there which I'd want to clarify if placing a bet '2013 X Factor must start' |

Thanks. james no 1 not linked to that condition though?

I think there's some charity single due to be released soon

Had 25 quid on. Seems a reasonable bet as he has built up a pretty substantial fan base it seems and you only need to sell 64 singles to get a No 1 these days.

OT but there are some widely differing odds on which judges will be on the next series:

Very interesting post mortem on this year's XF.
I'm still with Figgy on Ella. If you look at the voting figures and take all of the other factors into account (in particular song choices, makeover, VTs etc.) they really could have made more effort with her if they wanted. But on reflection I now doubt that she was ever the chosen one. Looks like James had that tag all along - he wasn't even Mark II or Plan B. After all Ella was beating James three out of the first four weeks. I should have taken more note of my friend in the music industry who said "We already have an Adele, we don't need another, but we don't have a James". I just doubted their ability to get the 'credible' act over the line. Thankfully I had a tenner on at the 25s with Stan pre-Judge's House, backed up with 9s and 10s during early lives so had plenty to play with when it came to the business end. But plenty of valuable lessons learned this year. One of the more interesting X Factors from a betting point of view! |
