Delicious irony there is Jahmene was meant to be the soul singer. James comes out and p1sses all over his chips

Yes, I thought that last night GB. Feelin' Good and Let's Get It On would have been right up Jahmene's street style wise (if not quite right vocally).

The winner had to have soul - that emotional connection with viewers.  I wrongly thought that Jahmene would trump James on that score - but ironically with those song choices he was just bang on the money.

Soul, style, cool and MEM-friendly.  It was a masterclass.

Being a bad boy that could be brought under control is a positive not a negative. And of course hints at the depression brings out the mothering side

not really appropriate doing songs like that when the voters want to mother you rather than get down and dirty tho.

You had to be virtually deaf to think Spud Boy was good.

No.....the virtually deaf don't give a sh!t about music and would not make any commentWinkWink

Jahmene - nothing sexy about him whatsoever.

James - fantasy bit of rough (in the process of being cleaned up) in the voters' dreams.

Jahmene was asexual, definitely.  And of course 'Let's Get It On' would have been ridiculous for him for that reason alone - quite apart from his religious beliefs presumably making this a no-go lyrically.

Not a fan of anything music related.......one of my senses don't work........only a fan of seeing green numbers.

How do anyone put up with X-factor every week for what 5 months is beyond me.

There's a lot of wise after the event but everybody was expecting Ella to be winning the votes from the start. That was the peak of her momentum on the show, standing ovation, x factor friendly track. The question at the time was would she be able to sustain it Grin .

She 'could' have won because she could hold a tune but that could also apply to loads of runners over x factor history. She is no more unlucky than any of them. She had no story she was just a singbot.

Saw Bruno mars on graham norton with jess

Theres a proper singer, and that emile  as well

If James gets some of the edges knocked off he might make some decent records and even be decent live, but whilst he was the highlite of this years x factor he was very hit or miss for me, a deserved winner all the same, despite the shameful treatment of Christ maloney

Yes, I agree GB.  They fcked up badly in week one and were at great pains to ensure it all looked straight and above board after that.

from the start , I had James , Jahmene and Ella as clear finalists ( in terms of voice and performance quality ) ,in a different league to the others ( all subjective opinion i know )  was totally surprised when James and Ella were singing off week 7 Angry
i suppose one must remember that Ella is only 16 and has plenty of time to mature into a great professional singer , but I still maintain that she has a great recording voice ( to quote Louis Grin) and that she should have , at least , made the final ...dont disagree with the winner , but this seasons X factor will have lost more followers than it gained

A decent summary Nicky.  I think those are the three we'd have all liked to see in the final.

FWIW I think Ella was too young.  Her voice was still not quite 100% rounded / mature yet - and she needs time to develop her personality / identity as a singer in order to connect with the audience more.  A bit of life experience wouldn't go amiss.  Plenty of time for her to develop into a recording artist yet.

I disagree, to win any comp you have to beat a field of favourites and underdogs and you need a bit of luck, whilst XF is a competition it differs because it is an entertainment show where acts sing and unlike most comps you can vote for the underdog.

Chris was top for 7 weeks!

An who on earth was keep Jehmene as the favourite for the last 3 weeks? He was a whopping 50% behind in the voting leading to the final. Someone has seriously done their bank on here.

I said a few weeks ago that the forum was a joke. Apart from a small handful, mostly they were all on Jehmene and Chris but now everyone seems to have won on James!?!? Funny place this, also the people who magically reversed their position are the ones who are on here 24/7 through the whole series.

I started last week near level on all three, by the end of the week I had a massive green on Chris and a medium green on Jahmene and decent red on James, thats the way I left it, by the time I knew james was probaly going to win I felt it was to late to change.Sad
so a loss on the outright for me this year
eliminations mostly great, will give them even more attention next year and treat the outright as the final weekly market.
By:
Dizzy42
When: 11 Dec 12 18:26
Not a bad idea Mach... There's certainly an argument to start playing the outright a lot later, from probably half way onwards.

Those on Chris would have had plenty of potential profit to play with if they wanted to load up on James.  Depends on how you play the game.  If you put all of your eggs in one basket you're going to get yolk on your face!

It's no mystery how most on here end up in some profit Lendus

They are very wise and can often spot risky reds before it's too late

It's the same argument Lou trots out after every series. Not sure he's discovered the lay buttons yet

Anyway, I made my position clear months ago and as usual was confronted with the rhetoric "I'm going to enjoy taking your money". As previously stated, Jahmene was never going to appeal to people in the final, too wet, really, really annoying nervous giggle and played the sob card completely wrong. James, although had his own faults had stock piles of sex appeal which is incredibly important, after all, that prat Cardle won!

There was half a chance James could have gone, a coin flip, people need to remember that. James was a walking b2 it was a fortunate one he dropped in to. If it wasn't Ella with him he would have drifted. Anyone backing before his b2 had a large slice of luck on their side the way the cards fell.
