The start very good as always and hard not to smile, then I just can't take my eyes off her crotch and just forget the song

Hmm the break does Romania no favours - being right after Albania would have helped

Haven't paid much attention to Switzerland during rehearsals but have noted the great reviews. Not for me on this

Switzerland is a total rip off of an 80's song, but I can't think what.
By:
I'd take Hungary over it anyway
By:
They look the part.
By:
Switzerland that is.

Unlike Hungary. Who look nervous and sweaty in the rehearsals I've seen

some words of wisdom in the new article on the Sofabet site: http://sofabet.com/2012/05/21/eurovision-2012-semi-1-first-dress-rehearsal/
But in a semi-final where qualification odds are very short on those seemingly certain to go through, whilst the borderline cases are dependent on the whims of the juries which are generally much harder to predict, one way to find value is in the potential for disconnect between fans’ assumptions and what will turn out to be Eurovision reality. |

By:

By:
dress looks better close up
it's all the material at the back that makes it look ludicrous |
By:

By:
Loses its way unfortunately after a while
By:
I love it from start to finish. I fear it could be lost in the mix tho

After watching the rehearsals I've come round to Romania. All in all this looks like the best overall performance to me. I also think their song is catchy and will capture the Balkan as well as the Latin vote. I'm beginning to see Romania as a contender to win this thing.
This sugar-sweet productive -line melodrama aping the style arrangement, lyrics and structures of a thousand songs you've heard before won't play well in Eastern Europe. The Swedish over-produced Scando-pop post-trance junk looks like a gypsy performing a witchcraft ritual to me. At the same time, Italy is just perhaps too much of San Remo - too classy for this contest. The performance also lacks something to capture viewers based on the You Tube clips I've seen... But it should still do very well with juries... Romania could bridge the gap between East and West. The performance and the background are great. It all fits together. It's catchy and the melody is a nice synthesis of Balkan and Latino music. |

Israel guy slightly more telegenic in a suit rather than that black t-shirt that was at least a size too small.

don't really know what to make of Israel. its song like these that make qualification predictions so hard. Will juries like it or televoters for that matter
By:

By:

By:

By:
It could sneak in I just don't know but its just over evens. Wouldn't play at these odds on Israel
By:
More knicker flashing from the dancers this time
By:
It's not that bad vocally. Nothing can convince me this is a contender for anything other than just making the final
By:
oh bad bum note there though
