I just have a feeling that their highpoint was last year - and there were more friendly western - 'irony loving' nations in it. And this year's song and presentation is just not as catchy (I know people generally think its a better song but is it a better Jedwood one?)

By:
does appearing twice in a row really go down that well - my feeling is that there is less impact although Lena did alright last year
By:
Can't answer that with any certainty tbf I'd just be guessing. On the qualification thread and even before this dress rehearsal I'd advised people to be very careful about Irelands qualification price.

It's a bit hard to answer the last point. Traditionally acts who did ok at ESC the first time they entered, have tended to do ok another time, but there are not that many instances where it has been in consecutive years. There are a few that have failed badly a 2nd time, but these are normally with artists with a much lower profile, and who are only maybe remembered by true fans of the contest.

Interesting comments. Its going to be fun seeing what this contest adds to the Jedwood legend

hopefully buries it.
anyone know what time the dress rehearsal is tonight? |
By:
Semmi 1 jury final is 8- 10 tonight our time I believe
By:
8-10 Oirish time is that the same lol
By:
To answer my own question; yes iirc Rob said he would update Ent odds as soon after 10 as possible

Vocal sounding ok on iceland to me.
Very scary tho |
By:
plenty knicker flashing going on from Eleftheria

By:
Vocals marginal
By:
Unlike Greece.
Not sure showing her knickers is a vote winner. Apart from on here. |
By:
yes slightly scared by the Romanian dress - not a vote winner
By:
Cheap and trashy. If the juries give that any points then they need shooting.
By:
I think the problem with Greece is that the oh oh oh uh oh bit is her weakest vocal and its so central to the song
By:
different jury tastes in different countries (except all seem to like Italian jazz)
By:
Latvia sounds the best so far. In tune and no scary hairy men
By:
Pity the song is rather dull...and oh gawd she's started shouting now.
Just going back. A very muted response for Greece I thought |
By:
Latvia is fine if only the start and the lyrics weren't so abysmal. The beutiful song chorus is quite catchy
By:
Here comes the class.....
By:
to mute or not to mute lol
By:
I'll listen and try to be impartial
By:
wtf is she wearing though
By:
Not sure what the hell she's wearing tho. Why not stick to the simple black dress from the video
By:
Agreed with the short skirts and panties lads. For here, not for ESC vote winning. Elena might be doing that for the Press core lol Not the real rehearsals. Put them on, not get them off!
By:
sorry no I just cant - stop screeching at me scary woman
By:
Muted
By:
superb!
we agree about the dress tho Bex lol |
By:
Best response from the assembled journos so far.
By:
Not even watching, but I'm guessing Albania or Loreen?
By:
Albania I can listen to loreen ok

By:
How you can listen to the awful shouting at the end of Latvia, but mute such a pure and amazing voice is beyond me Bex

By:
Here come your crew...
By:
I often laugh when things are described as marmite in our many discussions on here. For once with Albania I can't disagree. Love it or hate it song I thnik
By:
Ditch the wind machine why is that needed? To much flashing even if its a corset type thing
