Yep, the Serbia thing was the exception.  Yohanna was the big success story of course since the Juries came in, but 3rd on televotes IIRC as well.

There have been other female ballads in the upper reaches in the last 10 years even without juries.  Cyprus, Malta, Norway, France but I'm just not sure about Spain this year.

It's good, I do agree but is it better than Come Back, Hold On Be Strong, The Silence That Remains, Stronger Every Minute, Angel, Is It True...  I am not so sure it has as much televoting appeal.

I don't know all of those pk so can't really say. The song it reminds me of most, but is far superior to, is Jade and My Time.
That managed 10th in the pv.

I see no reason why it can't do better than that in the pv.

Yes the Juries are keen to reward quality songs from the big 5 nations as the strongest ballad Spain fits that nicely it will do well in the jury vote. With its draw who knows it may pull sufficient public votes to get there.
Moltiva from memory got votes off nearly every country and set the standard for female balladeers in this.

UK gave Molitva 0.  It was what it deserved IMO.

Solid enough from Norway. With the right draw I still think this is a lively outsider.

About all it deserved ;)

He does look like a fish out of water. I'm not sure what we were thinking.

Looking forward. I hope Pastora sticks with the white dress and something modern. She has a decent pair of pins on her.
White tends to work well.

Defo a bit better from The Hump but tbh its still an embarassment. The answer to why hes doing it would be money and vanity, hes probably getting shedloads for the gig, and in his own mind as a legend he can still do it. Arlene Philips will probably get shed loads for her choreography expertise and all the cameramen and crew will get a jolly to baku.
Good job I win my liscense fee back on thisGrin

France a very pleasant tune. It's hard to see as anything other than an also-ran tho.

They've moved the dancers which is an approvement.

A not particularly falttering dress or hairstyle for the much loved Nina (in many quarters)

i like France and find it far more interesting and entertaining than Italy...hence my wager Italy are 9/1 v France are 150/1...France will be better again in the final, i hear an echo inside that empty hall, that obviously won't be there finals night.
Anggun has a very powerful voice and she has yet to unleash it fully...the naked gymnasts will appeal to some and it is original i suppose...at least France are trying and will score well with the jury for their efforts i feel, will we be able to say the same regarding Italy ?
i know they are drawn together which helps neither but the price difference was and is ridiculous imo.
Italy is just a bore to me...there's nothing and they do nothing...a really bad jury score on the way imo.
ITALY.

Ive never believed it will be the runaway Jury winner that many are declaring, and given the uninspired staging it could well be overshadowed from a poor draw. Unders for mine.

A Panorama show on Azers human rights record is hardly going to help Hump.

can anyone tell me why it's virtually a 'pick em' in the UK vs Spain/Germany match bets? Would of favored the former to overturn us anyway, even more so after rehearsals and their superior draw...

Germany 18/19 and Spain 10/11 both look pretty decent (if you can get on)
