Hi Lou, whats this about 9 dates, are you a professional musician? Sorry if I've missed this revelation, I'm a rare visitor here these days - fair play if so. One of the big differences about the Voice is there is a genuine contest between the judges, they have constructed their teams using their judgement, guile and powers of persuasion. In XF the judges are pawns of the producers, and they have their teams thrust on them. In XF its irrelevant which judge wins, in this series I think it will be a really interesting side plot. I'm also hoping there will be little or no audience manipulation to get a chosen winner - but we'll have to wait and see about that. (sorry just remembered you don't believe in audience manipulation - Grassy Knoll, Little Green Aliens etc! *WINK*)
Hi Hemsby, I know what you mean, I'm sure to think at the end - I knew he/she was gonna win. But its actually really nice watching a series like this with my family for the first time ever, rather than being cooped up in front of the computer in my office and so far I'm not missing the betting at all. Thanks for reminding me of Little Mix ![]() |

Yes I'm a professional musician for my sins. Like I said I've only watched one episode of The Voice but I think it's just going to be the typical biased critique from the judges for their own acts. Rather than admit 'that was awful and we could all hear it' they'll say 'it was great, the best you've done so' far which I find so annoying. It's like asking a Bolton Wanderers fan "Are you going to beat Barcelona on Saturday in the big game" and rather than simply admit 'no they'll probably beat us about 5 or 6-0' they're miles too good for us they say 'yes I think we could well beat them' which I find really annoying as they're just blatantly lying as they can't honestly think that. Can't they just be honest is all I'm saying. Figgy Well if you mean Little Mix for instance how they won I'll never know. What would you honestly grade them - 6/10? And that's the best new talent in the whole country? I said at the time I honestly think you could pick four girl from a local Marks & Spencer or Tesco's that could do that. Not for me I'm afraid but betting wise what a pick so I'll swallow my pride next time and add a few quid to your 'rank' outsider. |

That's partly why they won Lou. People could relate to them. It's not just a singing contest ;) |

They also produced 2 of the most memorable performances of last year. Alien & Don't let Go.
I also thought Like a bird was excellent too. I can't remember any performance of Marcus. |

I see this year will be as much fun as always

As long as people remeber we ALL have our OWN opinions yes.
I honestly thought Little Mix were very very average and 4 girls from Tesco's could have been as good whereas I thought Marcus was very good. Just my opinion though which counts for nothing obviously and is no better than anyone else's. |

Havent watched any of this yet and certainly not backing anyone..half the field will be gne soon enough
after this week last of the blind auditions we get the battle rounds each team split off in to 5 pairs..then only 1from each of the pairs makes it through..leasing each mentor with 5 to take through to the live shows. |

Hi Lou,hope you are well after your self-imposed forum break.....I see you haven't lost your touch !
I was unaware of your proffession,I guess this explains why you view things purely through a musical angle rather than other factors which some of us consider important. I've just got this vision in my head of a Rod Stewart tribute act, tight leopard print trousers and spikey blonde wig........I'm sure I'm way out.Good luck with any bets you place. |

I love Rod the Mod actually and seen him about a dozen times I guess over the years but no I'm not a Rod tribute act .............. wouldn't mind though and I've got the legs for it so the leopard print trousers would go well on me I wreckon! Not sure I'll be betting on 'The Voice' but we'll see. Good luck to you too. |

What a Walter Mitty. I have never messaged Lou. Emotional leech with a big pinch of paranoia thrown in.

I'm not bothered Lou. You might miss another 100/1 winner tho ![]() |

No excuse just the simple truth. Ask him and see if he denies it. If he does then he is a real out and out liar full stop. |

Last night showed the flaw with the format which I'd wondered about all along. Its so unfair for the acts appearing late in the show when the judges have filled up their spaces. Hopefully they will get another chance next year, that girl was fantastic and if she'd sang first would have had the judges all competing over her. The way that last guy sang again was rather contrived and gimmicky as well, disappointing.
|
|
By:
That last guy is potentially the star of the show, yet he came within a whisker of missing out on a chance to sing. Would they really have left that to chance?
|
|
By:
No.
I'm sure it's not filmed in the order we see it and they'd find a space for anyone they really wanted. |
|
By:
..and he looks the lay of the series to me.
Do we really need another George Benson? (copyright GB1) |
|
By:
I'm sure Lou is getting GB1 confused with GB2 which in all fairness is easy as they are both wanku's!

I'm genuinely excited about the battle rounds having seen the ads.
I see the Voice beat BGT for the 1st time on saturday and spanked it's arse in the 20 min crossover. I can see it doing even better this weekend. |
|
By:
Recorded results show on the sunday like SCD, apparently
|
|
By:
I thought the battle rounds were recorded but not so.
|
|
By:
They are recorded. Recorded at the end of February according to people on DS who were there.
So before the editing of the audition shows, which could mean there are some clues in those shows. I'm talking about when the live shows start next week. We won't officially get the result til the sunday show. Tho I'm sure who goes will be on DS and all over twitter. |
