The crowd last night were mostly fanboys. |

It's basically 6/4 that Sweden get a first half draw - or 4/6 they get the prime spots. So on the basis that it's odds on they land a plum draw, 7/4 could arguably be a fair price now given that the price will undoubtedly shorten further in such an eventuality.
What price do you think they'll be if drawn 4 or 5? |

3.8 ish my guess Dizz.

You could argue it was 3 before the semi draw on Tuesday so the odds of it getting that good draw are already factored in. Just an alternative viewpoint, don't believe it myself

Two of Norway Turkey or Ukraine will fill slots 4 and 5. pessimistic, me? never

Ok, question for you. How many countries are you happy to pop in your EW (win and top 4) portfolio. Obviously, the more you have, the more outlay there is and so potentially more than one would need to place if there was not a winner among them.
So, do you just go for 2-3 of your strongest, and know that one placing is good enough, or would you rather spread across say 6-7 but needing a couple in the top 4 to turn a nice profit. (I am assuming the likes of Norway, Spain, Germany and others at similar prices which represent good EW value) |
|
By:
I was about to say the same - the price now probably factors in the draw, but either way I for one will be hoping for an early spot to make the event far more interesting!
|
|
By:
Popking - personally I like to have a spread of each way and top four bets. Normally five or six with a view to at least break even on the lot (and have some fun along the way). Not necessarily the most profitable betting system however, but then I'm a percentage man rather than a gambler!

I have backed 5 Pop,with varying degrees of success/failure on the prices I have took...
Spain 40/1,Romania 66/1,Greece 33/1,Azerbajan 50/1 and last and by all means least Iceland 28/1.One place and I'm near enough level or in profit the thinking. |

It is tricky, because in the year Lena won, I backed 4 songs each way at value prices, two much stronger than the others (Turkey and Romania as price was way wrong) and they came 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th.
Last year I backed 4 again, two much stronger than the others again, and they came 1st, nowhere, nowhere, and nowhere... Obviously both years I turned a nice profit, but had Azer only placed rather than won, it would probably have been more like break even. This year I have ended up with 7, although again, some are much stronger than the others, and a couple are at truly silly prices so were a very cheap punt. I'm now in the situation though where I would need the win, or 2 to place to turn a profit - one is just about break even but not quite. I remain confident, but sometimes it's hard to know which way is best. |

No problem Fig...Btw there is a link to the Netherlands Jury Rehearsal on there as well.

By:
ok cheers mate.
The reports were pretty good. I'm tempted to have a nibble on it to qualify. The juries tend to give a couple of western europeans a boost and there aren't many to pick from in this semi. Surely the Dutch will qualify one year ![]() |

Hope so..have a soft spot for the singer, she looks so cute,I just want to pinch her cheek and say "awwww"

Would be better if it didn't look like she had had a row with the band though...why so far apart? And no background pictures explaining the ludicrous Head Dress thing.

lol hems. Same here...and not just her facial ones.
I was going to mention Belgium Bex. Watching the semi it stood out as a piece of simple charm amongst much of the nonsense that come before it. Much like Switzerland last year. Being followed by Finland. Another piece of simple charm and not more ESC nonsense may have damaged both of their chances |

Portugal is worthless, unimaginative piece of tripe and if that qualifies I'll be throwing things at the t.

What price do we think Sweden will go off at on Saturday? I reckon 8/11 with a prime draw.

Just watched Netherlands.
Aww she's cute...and to use jr's phrase, she 'gives great camera' I also think her being of Turkish decent could give her a small boost. Just as I've always thought that Cyprus will be helped out by the Greek diaspora vote. |

SCowell v keen to take charge of the UK entry next year, has offered his services to the Beeb.

TBF I wouldn't mind him doing it. As long as he had a decent panel of judges and he was just the Producer
We'd probably have a better chance of sending a song and an artist that more accurately represents contemporary British Music. |
|
By:
For starters we might have a panel of judges that don't include John barrowman
|
|
By:
he'd probably want someone like Ronan singing something very similar to Unchained Melody
