Dance offs at this stage of the comp are ridiculous.

One ray of hope for the semi, hopefully he has the waltz - should do very well, and the argentine tango (he did a very very good rumba in week 1, and they are sort of similar) so bottom isnt 100% gaurenteed.

Although, alas, its likely, and we would have to rely on the pv order of Ricky and Ali reverse the judges.

and any ties make it even better for Chris next week. I reckon Laila beat Ali tonight. Is there a growing sentiment for Anton to win the show? Guess Nat's voters would be more likely to start supporting Chris, then Ali, then Laila, cos Laila the most glamorous and thus likely the most disliked among frumpy women...? Just a thought.

Ties next week or in the semi would be brilliant, but with Darcey coming into score and 2 dances the marks will be out of 100, and thus a tie would be extreamly unlikley.

oh yeah, forgot about Darcey. Would the BBC also not be keen on having a BBC winner - looks like nepotism.

Ricky has twittered Cha Cha and Foxtrot, so looks like they are doing their two remaining dances, so

Ricky - Cha Cha and Foxtrot
Ali - Tango and Samba
Laila - Am Smooth and Salsa
Chris - Waltz and Samba

Because he's the only contestant not to have been in the bottom 2 (and his average score is the worst of those left), plus a tabloid leak a few weeks ago said he was topping the vote every week.

STRICTLY COME DANCING: RICKY WHITTLE ABANDONED BY THE PUBLIC

Strictly Come Dancing's Ricky Whittle was abandoned by the voters

Sunday November 29,2009
By Natalie Chalk

THOUSANDS of Strictly Come Dancing viewers abandoned heartthrob Ricky Whittle last night after he was freed on bail following an alleged assault.

The Hollyoaks star, 28, was also dropped by bookies who had tipped him as favourite to win series seven of the BBC dance contest.

He was only saved by the judges following a dance-off that saw EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy kicked out of the show.

Although slammed for giving an

interesting to see how it pans out with Whittle. He has Tweeted to say he has insane Hollyoaks workload this week, which ain't gonna help his training hours. This might be the sort of thing judges could jump all over next Sat if they've had enough of him. As always, just a thought... discuss

and maybe not such a cert if he makes another dance off. Would have to imagine Ali would Tango in a dance off and Laila would do the Am Smooth. Not sure which of his two Ricky would do (maybe cha cha) but there might not be much in it on this occasion.

maybe this re-adjusts the judges' thinking, and not so eager to have the Whittle Bastian final.
Will be telling, I reckon, where they place Laila on leaderboard next Sat. If they stick her down in 4th, they'll have signed her death warrant imo.

Only way Laila is safe is by not being in dance off. Ali v Ricky dance off would put a different slant on the semi.

lots of Chris ramping on BBC Breaky.

Karen Hardy said it was the perfect dance for him, like a real showdance, dance of the night, should have had 10s, etc. Also commented on the great chemistry and perfect partnership he has with Ola.

Ali and Brian bumped into other dancers twice during the group dance which is a huge no no apparently and should not really have had a 10.

Whittle being in bottom two could be best thing that happened to him. He will bounce next week.

Laila and Anton could have topped the public vote on Saturday. She is the most likeableble female on the show and Anton must be popular, especially given he hosts the Hole in the Wall just before. She will struggle to outscore the top two, however as long as she outscores CH she may avoid the dance off. I am not sure however, that she will outscore Hollins. It must be weeks ago that she got a better score.

Ricky's blog:

what a wierd week, finished off by a wierd night. Firstly want to say im gutted Natalie has gone and im even more gutted that i was the one who eliminated her. She has been amazing since day one and didnt stop smiling the whole time on the show and i hope to stay in contact with her after as im unlikely to meet a nicer funnier person!!

now rock and roll, again,as in the salsa,as soon as choreography is not controlled by natalie,we suffer. Now unlike the rest of the couples we didnt get the head choreographer ryan as we were supposed to,on the day we were supposed to get him,he was told to return to a couple he had been with already and we missed out. Was a little put out by this as everythin was supposed to be even as in we all were to have equal time with him as none of the pros had done the new dances. we had to get help from assistants to show us some moves that natalie could link together in a routine,so well done nat for a routine that you had never done.

Now as some people including the judges had noticed, out original routine was quite tame compared to our usual efforts and even the dance off. We had been dancing this routine like the dance off version all week and did so in the dress run where we were first observed by this weeks choreographers. finally getting time with them a couple of hours before the live show, they told us we were too wild and that we needed to tone it down.Apparently rock n roll is more cool and relaxed and so we performed it how we were told and sadly were crucified by the judges for not letting go. WEEEEEEEEEEEEE bit frustrating. So when we came to the dance off we had a dirty dancing moment,we told each other to do our kind of dancing our way and threw everythin into it like we usually did and did in the dress run. The judges loved it,go figure!! such a frustrating night,we try each week to wow and go further and vowed not to keep it simple as we owed it to everyone who supported us to entertain them with tough exciting routines. Never again will we go against our instincts and feel we let our supporters down by not goin out there and smashin it,i just hope they enjoyed the dance off version more as that was how it should have been before we were told to tone it down. so i appologise to our guys who were dissappointed with tonight and hope to improve next week. Which by the way is cha cha and foxtrot.doesnt get much tougher, two technical dances and very opposite but im lookin forward to it and am back under nats choreography which always pleases,so despite a heavy filmin schedule next week,im gonna do my best to make it up to everyone who has supported us

when Tess was doing her backstage chats on Sat, was there a moment when Whittle expressed some dissent? I recall listening to him speak and saying something petulant, but was more focused on my laptop so didn't quite catch it in full.

I don't think he came over a likable at all, put it that way. First time I've studied him.

This is Ali vs Mince for me. Whichever makes the final will win, probably mince if both do

Ali won't be helped by the Karens comments.
She's beginning to look like the latest teachers pet.
Ridiculous marks for her Charleston and overmarked in the VW too, it seems.
Ricky's blog, apart from being unreadable, shows what an arrogant knob he is.

Chris must be winning this vote every week by a distance. I could see Laila outpolling the other 2 now and she could be the value.
Her AS should be a 9 and 10 dance and if she ended up in the dance-off she'd have a fighting chance against anyone.

I can remember that from the show Cider, but haven't found it on iplayer.

When they were standing after the group dance, Len commented on Ricky and Natalie last and one of the things he said was about good "floorcraft" which Natalie seemed to repeat quite loudly as they were all walking off.

I agree FLL. I think last week was a bit of a strange one re: Ali.

Injured at the of Monday rehearsal apparently.
No mention of it until Wednesday ITT (??) when we get an almost suicidal Brian, and apparently she had been unable to walk.
Then virtually no mention of how the injury had progressed on the following ITT shows.
Very little mention of it on the main show and dances as though the injury had been no big deal.

IMO it looked as if the routine had been "tweaked" to accommodate her injury and certain comments should have been made by the judges. The scores and comments for both dances were certainly OTT.

that was the Whittle comment, squares. He definitely did himself no favours in that backstage segment. I also find the Ali stuff curious. Brian looked so devastated mid-week I sold my spread bet on back of that injury scare yet nothing made of it in show and she seemed to move quite freely.
Ali is definitely coming across as the teacher's pet but I agree fll - Laila still a contender. The sentiment behind Anton is growing, and she looks a solid 2nd highest poll to me behind Hollins, and may even challenge him. If she's placed 3rd on leaderboard, it looks a 50/50 call whether she is in dance off. And against Whittle, having to do the tricky foxtrot/cha cha cha, she would have a chance of beating him.

I must say, there must be lost of people on here about to receive a hefty windfall when chris obviously wins! from reading the posts on here for the last while it seems clear from u all, he is a cert!! as Brian and Ali seem to have no chance from the posts on here, with Chris being miles ahead with the public... apparantly!!
With Chris being at fantastic odds, u must be about to really coin it in, and im sure u are lumping on more even as we speak!
i wish i had your eye for this competition, to a mere amature like myself almost weekly Brian and Ali seems miles ahead of the rest. of course this is wrong as they have both appeared in a dance off at some stage, but really dont understand after listening to the posts on here why the bookies havea combined ali and brian around a 1/9 shot when it is crystal clear to u all that chris is miles ahead...

Bruno Tonioli has admitted the Strictly Come Dancing judges were given a "scare" when favourite Ricky Whittle failed to secure the public's support on Saturday's show.

Former Hollyoaks star Ricky - who appeared on the BBC One programme the day after being released on bail by police investigating an alleged assault - found himself in the bottom two after a "lacklustre" rock 'n' roll performance, but the panel opted to save him and send Natalie Cassidy and partner Vincent Simone home.

Bruno said: "We had a bit of a scare last night with Ricky in the bottom two - but I still think he is very, very good, he's got a lot to offer so it will be interesting to see what happens next week when we're getting towards the semis."

He also praised BBC Breakfast's sports presenter Chris Hollins, who made it through to the quarter finals after performing a Charleston with professional partner Ola Jordan.

I hope your not all too shocked when its a Brian v Ali final as they are clearly miles ahead on ability
