I kind of know what he means. If ever a player screamed completely untapped potential, it's him. Reality is, he never gave himself a chance by missing half the season (played 7 tournaments this term), which has been a bit of a recurring theme throughout most of his career.

I mean, i understand why kurt is where he is, but the context Davis was alluding to was merely of a player unable to cope with all the fantastic young talent overtaking him which is only part of the story, any arguably the lesser part of it at that.

O'sullivans going to sluice up in these matches,the handicaps are like buying money unless Robertson turns up,he's going to beat these other players from 2 frames to their one,Gilbert might not even win another frame in that match..Will be the same in the Allen match and thats if he even gets through..The tables are made for the potters,absolutely crazy the balls that are going in,such a big advanatage for players like O'sullivan,Trum and Robertson..just boring to watch when you know they can't miss..Same old story.

Geeky Maguire crucible stat. Since 2013 he's been a crucible seed 7 times and beaten first round in 6 of them (proud holder of beaten 1st round as seed record with 7 overall). On the 2 occasions he qualified, he drew Ronnie in 2018, lost 10-7, and reached QF a year earlier. Never a bubbly enthusiastic mags backer but this might be the time for him. Surely practising hard all day while murphy was all boxed up in the commentary booth!

Davis wasn't very impressed anyway gobe. Murphy said the bbc basically made him do it, he had no choice, but i chose to interpret that as either an attempted joke or just typical murphy glib remark. Certainly a rather novel approach anyway!

Murphy has not only been in the commentary box, he’s been in all the kebab shops too! I don’t follow snooker too much so not having seen him in a while, I was shocked by his size
